Based this off the recent toy pics that have been released.Β Assuming the figures are accurate I have to say the chest is pretty ridiculously big and the backplates are on the small side for my tastes, but whatever, I'm not a fanboy who cries over the little things.Β Hail to the king, baby.Related content

Thanks, though to be honest I kind of hate this one now XD Β Drew this up before we had good body shots of the new design, those backplates are WAY too small.

Except female saurians lack mammaries altogether, as mammaries are a trait of placental mammals...so Godzilla here's not a certain female.
The only way to check gender would be go look below the (non-existant) belt, as it were.

actually in Godzilla vs. SpaceGodzilla they explained it, some versions of the film don't quite explain it, the version i have, the spanish one, actually had it, i also have one of the many english versions, in which they said he was asexual.

._. lol thats why u shall always watch original japanese with englisch subs! I watched a few englisch versions and cant remember any point where they explain that. Nevermind the spanish versionsΒ which are horible hombre they come up with stupid ideas while synchronising movies.
Over all we shall' not care about godzilla's sexuality , his movies are about a desctructive force of nature and not some biology dokumentation about giantΒ single lizards copulating em'selves

No I don't, especially since Edwards has talked about wanting to do a sequel based on Destroy All Monsters.Β Either that or there's going to be more than one creature, but I think Godzilla will live.

AWESOME!!!!! This piece looks AMAZING!!! You really outdid yourself here! I really love how you drew him! You did a really awesome job drawing him! I actually really like your take on him more than how the toy looks. I actually really like the design. I know people are disliking the chest and spines, but i think its because they tried to make him look more realistic and more like a dinosaur instead a guy in a costume. All in all, i really LOVE how this piece came out! You did an extremely awesome job on this

That's really nice of ya, Groudan, thanks, means a lot to me.Β I'll tell ya though, this guy is hard to get down.Β Most Godzilla designs I've drawn so often I have them basically memorized but this guy is taking a LOT longer, so many friggin' details XDΒ And we haven't even really seen him in action yet!

No problem KK! You know i'll always comment generously on your pieces lol. Yeah, I can see that. His scales seem a lot more complex. I really, really like his design though. Its pretty cool if you really take the time to look a it. Hopefully he will look better in the movie than the currentΒ figures of him lol. Anyway, really awesome job on this again!

I don't think the spines on the toys are all that accurate. At least when you look at the poster and the very brief shots of him in the film. Since they appear to be really thin and pointy as all hell in the film, I image that they were slimmed down for safety toy sake. I mean look at a bandai Godzilla 90's toy. The spines on half those figures are not nearly as big as they were in the movie. Not nearly as big or nearly as many plates there, that is on the suit.
Oddly enough, the thing that makes me cringe on the toy is those elephant like feet. Those things look bad lol.
As for the art you did another bang up job again.

Like I said, I find it a little hard to swallow that the three different models/figures that have been leaked thus far all have the same mistake of the backplates being so small, but I'm sure we'll get official movie art and stills before too long to confirm one way or the other.Β I was actually more thinking that the biggest inaccuracy with this pic is obviously going to be the blue glow and fire, I highly doubt his beam is going to be the good old hue, but that doesn't really matter for the purpose of this picture anyway.Β Thanks man.

I believe the spines are small because of child safety reasons. If that is so, expect the Monsterarts and other Collectors Grade toys of Godzilla 2014 to have larger spines (as seen in the trailer). Anyway its always cool to see more of G14! Thanks for posting.Β

The shot in the trailer could easily have been perspective, making it look like the spines were larger than they were, but it's too hard to say at this point without any further official releases of images.Β I just find it weird that all of the models, figures and prototypes would have small backplates if they weren't like that in the final film, but time will tell, thanks.
