Description
Hands down my favorite scene in King Of The Monsters 2019. What they did with Serizawa was nothing short of inspired, giving him a noble end like the original version of the character but making it distinctive to this new take on him, allowing the new Serizawa to have his own legacy from his sacrifice that didn't steal the original's thunder. Another noble sacrifice to save the world, only this time by giving his life for the monster he followed all his life. The rest of the movie may have been a lot of fun, exciting and jaw dropping awesome at times, but this moment was the heart of the film and what did the most to honor and respect the legacy of the Big G.Kaijukid Comics website: www.kaijukidcomics.com/

The filmakers think this scene should be sad but could'nt they do it another way if you don't get my drift watch Godzilla king of the monsters how it should have ended also Serizawa we knew. nothing about watch Orga reviews Godzilla king of the monsters if you don't catch my drift

Not really sure I follow, sorry, maybe if you phrase it a little different. I really appreciate how much more the film-makers tried to inject some genuine emotion into this film, it felt like a lot of the heart impact was a bit lacking from the first. To me Serizawa's sacrifice in the new spin is masterfully done for what they had to work with.

yeah it was sad, but could've they develop Serizawa's character in the movie so his sacrifice could have been more emotional?

I literally thought this at this scene in the movie "how should men die better, than facing fearful odds, for the ashes of his father and temples of his gods"

2nd best scene IMO, the first was Mothra's godrays pushing back the rain clouds. That scene almost makes me cry every time just from the score and the lights.

This scene was beautiful. I did find it very interesting how they flipped this version of Serizawa and made it work so well. My only regret was the destruction of that place. I would have loved to see more of the ruins of a civilization that worshiped Godzilla as much as I do.
And I wonder if you noticed when they announced they were using an Oxygen Destruction warhead a schematic popped up and you could see the interior of the warhead was shaped just like the original Oxygen Destroyer from the original movie.

I did notice, I was both happy and disappointed at the same time about it because it sort of half proved my assumptions about the story. My thought was that the OD was going to be used to help kill Ghidorah at the very END of the movie, not halfway through, but overall I'm still just happy they paid that tribute to the source.

Goodbye Old Friend
Your peaceful breath slows,
Your eyes gaze upon your world
I offer to you
My strength
Goodbye Old Friend
My hand reaches forth,
Striving for divinity
I offer to you
My love
Goodbye Old Friend
At the steps of your kingdom,
We become one
I offer to you
My life

I cannot hype how much I loved this scene. It was just beautiful... just... I have no words to describe my feeling on this scene. It was so touching (no pun intended) they way Serizawa looked at Godzilla in the eyes.
It was almost as if Godzilla was silently saying 'Thank you'.

How about that the man who originally sacrificed himself to kill Godzilla to save the world is now giving his life to save him how poetic.

I really enjoyed this scene too. Though with that much radiation around you think it would cause him to cough or something to be happening. I guess I just wanted to see him struggle a bit when he setting the bomb or even having him stumble a bit when he walks over to Godzilla. Shake a head from the dizziness or something. I just didn't get the "struggle" part of the scene. Looked more like a guy having trouble pulling a heavy case up some stairs lol
But this is some great art though. Really captured the scene well

I figure that Godzilla is really efficient at storing and absorbing radiation. It would be pretty inconvenient for him to need to fire a beam, only to lack fuel from constant leakage.

Guess I get it from the GxM part of the Millennium series. Just being close to Godzilla is enough radiation to down ya. Well....and who knows how much radiation is actually emanating from that "area" of which Godzilla is at.

I wonder what Goji was thinking in this moment, and what he thought of his home getting destroyed (for a good reason but still)
