Just a fan comic for fun, continuing the Heisei Godzilla movie series of the 90s. I did this series as a "sketch project", meaning I made it an exercise to make as good a book as I could as fast as possible, because sadly I can't spend all my time working to make the comic look as excellent as a Godzilla book deserves, but I hope you'll find it fun to read irregardless, and I still hope to have done my best. Did you know that a Heisei Anguirus was planned to be? In one of the scrapped movies that was to end the Heisei series Godzilla vs Ghost Godzilla was going to feature him in some way. We don't know what role he would have played in the film (most likely to be a alley to Godzilla to fight his phantom 54 ancestor) but film was scarpped due to director Takao Okawara thinking three rows of movies where Godzilla is fighting against creatures that resemble him (Mechgodzilla 93 and Spacegodzilla 94) was simply to much.Β

Did you have any influence from the unused Anguirus design from GMK? I always thought that would be a cool Heisei Angy.

I would have if I'd practiced it more, most of these pages were done from memory and I didn't want to botch the GMK Anguirus design

Yes there will be! Sorry for not posting anything new in a while, I've been obligated on another project, I have a job and school just started up, so work on Godzilla has been a little slow, but bear with us and I promise there will be more

This comic has potential. You should submit this to IDW comics who are the people making the current Godzilla comics.

Thanks, I would LOVE to show them how somebody who actually cares about the material could draw kaiju. I did this hastily, but give me a salary and some digital tools and I promise I'd put more sincere, skillful work into drawing a Godzilla comic, because he deserves it. IDW doesn't seem to care what their books look like as long as they can get fans to glomp onto their series.

Well there is a fan art contest for G-fest. Why not enter something in that for next year?
I think this comic looks cool.
IDW comics are ok, but IMO Dark Horse had a more realistic look to their's with the art matching the covers. IDW's is different in the covers are the only cool art of the entire thing.

Thank you very much. I hope it's just fun for fans, because frankly it's disappointing that there aren't more comic lovers out there putting up their take on the Godzilla universe, at least certainly not a lot on Deviant Art. I'll do my best, and thanks again!
