I have a really special place in my heart for King Kong Escapes, even if I'm not the biggest fan of Kong in general compared to the regular Toho lineup. The movie is so goofy and kiddy but still manages to have some intense moments and adult leaning material, especially the bloody end of Dr. Who, the villain of the film.YMSF was not only good enough to provide us Westerners with a well designed version of MechaniKong, but when I purchased the figure from their table at G-Fest they were nice enough to throw in the little uncolored mini figures of Dr. Who and Susan Watson, the heroine of the movie. I love getting random freebies.

I appreciate their efforts greatly, between the Manda, Kumonga, MechaniKong, Gabera and Hedorah figures I snagged off them to finish off my once desperately incomplete collection.

I like Mechani Kong, and I really hope to aquire a 6 inch scale figure some day, but my focus is on Godzilla monsters. This guy I regard as a TOHO Kaiju. If my bucket list was for all TOHO monsters, like the gargantuans, Gezora, Dogora, etc, then I'd have a LOT more to collect.
However, some day I hope to. Most of the time I'm a fan of robotic counterparts of a story's protagonist

I think I got him back when he was new and both figures were equally priced, at least I don't remember paying a huge amount for him. You just made me realize though that I've never added Dogora to my collection

a couple of years ago i noticed that he is voicing an important character in the film midway it is disappointing that dubbing looping voice actors did not get on screen credits in the end titles .
