I was planning on doing something like this for a while (I gave up when all the files were lost when my computer crashed), but I'm very impressed here! The human aspect of these films is overlooked so often, but it's one of the most enjoyable aspects of these films - even if they're not all brilliant, they're always entertaining!

wow you even stuck Steve Martin in there.
Compared to other "US Releases" of kaiju films of that time period, the US version of Gojira was pretty darn tame. Almost like a side-story take on the events that transpired. Sure he might have some 'interaction' with the cast... but mainly serves as an observer than anything else.
and even cartoon-style Don Frye looks like he's about to unload a six-pack of whoop-ass

Raymond Burr holds a very dear place in my heart and I just couldn't see my way to not have him included in this, but I'm glad most fans understand the nostalgic reasons for such things.Β If I had had the time and the means I would have happily included every major or minor character from the whole lot of films (and there's certainly some wonderful Toho actors I managed to miss here), but it's such a big family that frankly a second installment would have to be done here.

Nice work you got here. Even though the monsters on every Big G film deserves more love, the human characters makes every movie a stand-out among the rest.
I was just wondering, why's Ozaki and Akane Yashiro are not there? They're one of the best characters in a Godzilla movie.

Thanks, but Akane IS in there, she's just to the right of the Xillian Leader.Β Ozaki's not in there simply because I ran out of room, otherwise I had planned to have him be included.

Well if it makes you feel any better I don't remember said event, so don't bring it up cause I'll never remember on my own.Β I just find my greatest satisfaction in putting my own twist on kaiju art and characters, and that's special and important to me, so yeah, I may react, but it's only because I want to bless others with art like I enjoy finding great fan art.

This is just awesome! There is hardly any fan-art dedicated to the most important thing about the Godzilla films (aside from the kaiju of course)- the characters. To see these characters in one fanart piece is just utterly awesome!

You know its funny, but as much as I don't like "Godzilla vs Gigan" (not really a bad movie, but a dull one), I really do like the human heroes quite a lot.
A ragtag gang of offbeat young people, who all rock in their respective ways, especially the bad-ass girlfriend who can karate aliens out of a room. And love the overly dramatic full-body illustration our Manga artist lead makes to cover the bombs. Hilariously over-the-top and very fitting all at the same time.

I think you make a good point, even the worst of the series usually have something fun to offer and in Gigan's case the cast really does make up for the stock footage and the redundant plotline.Β But for me it was one of my infant Godzilla movies I grew up on, so I think I'm just completely bias in general.

A good Godzilla film requires the big G and a good cast of human characters and we've had a lot threw out the franchise.
My favorites is of course the cast of the origanl 54 film and GMK.

Thanks, and I realized something while drawing Yuri from GMK, there....there's a LOT of characters in these movies that get head wounds and need those bandage/bandanas on their heads, aren't there?

No way dude, you did great! I mean you can tell who everyone is suppose to be, which shows a lot of skill. You were able to nail down enough character facial features in order to make them stand out. You know, not like modern day anime where you just replace someones hair and they can be another character. Or how every female face is the exact same layout!...Alas, that is a topic for another day. Let's get back to this thing!
Again, you did a really good job. Everyone has their favorites when it comes to these movies. Like for me, I don't see The Black Hole Leader, or the Nebulian leader in here. Which is a bit sad, but I am glad that others got put in there instead. And I think...I think I can see why they got omitted. Seems like you did a pairing in here. Looks like there is at least 2 characters from every major film in there (except you really did it heavy on the Godzilla 54, which is understandable). And I can see you had the 3 humans from the Gigan flick so I can see how the aliens got cut there.
Now I can recognize everyone in here, except for the dude next to Dio from Godzilla vs the Sea Monster. The dude with the pipe. That's not the criminal guy that stole the boat is it? (Btw, as far as Godzilla human characters go he is my favorite from the older generation films.)

The dude with the pipe is the head scientist from Son of Godzilla, the only character from that film I really had room to fit.Β i also tried not to do any repeat actors, though I failed to notice that i did put Kumi Mizuno on there twice as both Daioh and Miss Namikawa.Β Very glad you found it to your likings, it was a bugger to do
