Description Jonie is the eternal dragon of the Aladine Dragon Balls. When he is summoned he will grant four wishes to the people standing within a five foot range of his dragon balls when he comes out. In the case of the story of, "Dragon Ball Super: New Generation", it was Uub, Pan, and Trunks. Jonie's powers, while great are limited due to a few rules set by his dragon balls. One, he can not kill people via a wish. He can drop bodies outside of wishes, though he prefers not to if can avoid it. Two, he can not make people fall in love. And three, while can bring people back from the dead, they must have been deceased within a time limit of three days, otherwise, when that time limit expires, they will not exactly rise up a pretty picture, and Jonie does not like making zombies anyway. He can also change sizes and take on a humanoid form for close combat situations. If one of Jonie's masters wishes for him to be free of the Aladine Dragon Balls, they will turn to stone and his powers will be reduced, though he will no longer be bond by the rules of his balls.

In terms of personality, Jonie differs greatly from other eternal dragons. He normally prefers not to speak in his deep, booming, authoritative voice and more often speaks in a lighter, charming tone. While most eternal dragons behave very seriously, Jonie is more laid back and comedic, often using his powers to show off his capabilities, lighten the mood, materialize objects out of thin air, break into musical numbers, and just create some comic relief. He usually does this to add some pzazz, when he is granting a wish

In the story of Dragon Ball Super: New Generation, when Jonie makes Uub, Pan, Trunks, and Cell his masters, Trunks wishes for him to aid his team in recovering the Black Star Dragon Balls, which he complies with. During the Grand Tour Teams journey, Jonie reveals that his greatest desire is to be free of his Dragon Balls and explore the Universe. It does not matter to him if he loses his powers, what matters is that he will be free to come and go wherever and whenever he pleases. The GT Team then promises to use one of their last wishes to free him.

Note: Jonie's design is inspired by Shenron's appearance in the the title card of the intro in the original "Dragon Ball" series. His personality is inspired by the Genie from Aladdin (the original 1992 movie).
