I think adding a small rip in the space time continuum would be a good back story something to small for people to get through but perfect for the Dorats

Awww, you make them look so adorable. you can see how they were a highly popular pet bing that they are dragon-like creatures. though how could something so adorable turn into an evil destructive monster? you would think Ghidorah would be nice and defend people instead of being bad.
