Gluun is yet another mysterious member of the kaiju-like creatures called the Great Old Ones, but also one of the most sadistic. He finds humans to be intriguing creatures as they seem ruled by emotion and their internal struggle between what is right and wrong, and their primordial instincts, and enjoys twisting their minds and thoughts to the point were most either kill themselves or collapse from internal trauma. Gluun tends to dwell in a pocket dimension of his own making and keeps the portal hidden in a statue which his human followers worship and protect with their lives. Gluun may be some relation to GLAAKI.

The Temple was a straight horror story written by Lovecraft, but Chaosium added Gloon or Gluun to cast light on the fate of that German sailor. He alone made it to the Temple.

Tho I am not a role player, I like reading the campaign descriptions. Of course, were I to actually participate in a RPG session, where the game was a mythos one, such reading might be spoilers, so it's best if the Dungeon Master thinks of an original one OR uses one from a book I haven't read.
