Perhaps the last of a race of semi aquatic dinosaurs, Zedus, appeared in the summer of 2006 and began to attack a seaside japanese village and devour many people. This attracted Gamera to do battle with the 46 meter saurian but Zedus was able to fend off the turtle in their first encounter, but not the second and the dinosaur's razor sharp tounge was torn out and the beast was broadsided by gamera and was thought dead until closely examined and was revealed to be unconscious, and thus was sent to join the roster of creatures like him on Monster island. On a second note,in 1966 when Ultraman came to our world in pursuit of Baltan their battle awoke the monster jiras which looked almost identical to Zedus, including the neck frill and long spines down the back.
