Description (Hopefully this version will make you kids happier!)

Leaping Dinosaur
GOROSAURUS

HEIGHT: 50 meters
MASS: 23,000 metric tons

BIO:
When Faroe Island was being studied in the 1960’s, Dr. Makino and his team discovered a strange stone slab, almost 10 feet high, deep in the island’s jungle. Surrounded by what may have once been a temple, the Slab was covered in ancient runes and hieroglyphics of an unknown dialect (though similar ruins were later found in the deeper jungles of Ogasawara). On the Slab, there was a clear story being told: 4 gods once ruled this island, they being a giant beast-man, a reptile with long legs, a spiked four-legged monster, and a huge spider. They were depicted being “born” from the Slab when it fell from the stars, and the four monsters fought for dominance over the island. It wasn’t until the beast-man was appealed to by the people that he began to dominate the other 3, dispelling them to the far corners of the world - the spiked one to the north and the spider to the south. Only the leaping monster remained nearby, cast into the sea, and once the ancients built a special resonating chamber around the Slab, the reptile slept beneath the island, while the beast-man slept in the mountain within the island.
Mr. Tako, Dr. Makino’s investor, knew that the Slab would be a great scientific find and gain excellent publicity for Public Pharmaceuticals, even moreso than the soma berries, so he ordered the thing moved; something Makino advised heavily against.
Still, the damn rock was moved, and even the inch or two that it was shifted, and the mountain quaked, and KING KONG was released! After accidentally smashing the Slab, he began moving towards the village in search of soma, when a giant reptile burst from the surf…it was a massive dinosaur, easily as big as Godzilla, but with a freakish pair of powerful-looking legs...it was later named GOROSAURUS WATSONI, after Susan Watson, a member of the research team and the first person to encounter the monster. When Susan’s screams brought the rest of the team to the beach, it also brought the attention of Kong, who saved Susan from the jaws of Gorosaurus. The two titans rammed one-another, and battled ferociously until Kong nearly broke Gorosaurus’s jaw. Then, grasping the monster by the tail, he swung it far out beyond the beach, where, it was assumed, that the dinosaur decided against pursuing Kong.
After Anguirus freed Godzilla from his icy prison, Kong and the mutant saurian battled one-another in their historic bout at Mt. Fuji. Meanwhile, Gorosaurus, with no reason to return to Faroe Island, disappeared until the late 90’s, where he was discovered on Mondo Island, only a few hundred miles from Faroe. The dinosaur was considerably mellowed, but still aggressive towards humans. Still, he was rallied to Monster Island, where he was comfortable for a good while…until the Kilaak Invasion, of course.

ABILITIES/ASPECTS:
- Extraordinary jumper
- Legs contain organic “istons” which allow for incredibly powerful kicks
- Appetite for human flesh

I admit that I was at first disappointed by your first rendition of Gorosaurus but I felt your reasons justified and liked it all the same. Your re-redesign however, is like a slap to the old redesign's face and I love it. I was surprised that you made him blue and yellow but hey, better than purple and green neh?

Hehe, just kidding. Yeah, now this IS GOROSAURUS to me. The long anole like skull, the bulky body, and the fact the kangaroo kick is back (and like the whole biological explanation behind it all).

I'm sure Ren will be satisfy.

LOVE IT! I love how you put aspects of both the original Toho design and your initial Neo design into this creation. One can clearly see that this is Gorosaurus and not something from Kong island (not that your old version wasn't awsome, too). Well done.

Gorosaurus...not being a great kaiju? ...He broke Ghidorah's BACK! How isn't that great? Ghidorah, who could have shooken off Anguirus and Godzilla, was knocked onto the ground, his back broken, note the only head directly connected to the spine, the middle one, fails to move much at all?

Now, before you say, how do you know his back was broken? Ghidorah has shaken off kaiju that swarmed him before. In Ghidrah: The three headed monster, he shook off Godzilla, Rodan, and Mothra. He could have easily done so with Anguirus and Godzilla. Then Gorosaurus Kangaroo kicked him, making his whole middle jut forward before the rest of him hit the ground. Gorosaurus crippled Ghidorah.

GodzillaKiryu91 In reply to KaijuX [2009-09-26 21:03:42 +0000 UTC]

I agree. Godzillasaurus is a plain dinosaur, about the size of a T-Rex probably, and Gorosaurus is a full blown kaiju, even if he's not a mutant.

Now how do you think of it?

👍: 0 ⏩: 0

KaijuX In reply to scorpsub123 [2009-07-21 12:20:51 +0000 UTC]

Rather simple, but unique at the same time. I just said rather simple, because he's a giant dinosaur. But yes, he is quite an amazing fellow. Kicking Ghidorah's rear would be one reason.
"A giant dinosaur kicking the ultimate alien dragon to the ground (with some assistance)." ...Yeah, that's something for ya right there. And since Kong is giant now, Gorosaurus should might as well be giant too, and give him SOME relevance to the G Neo franchise.

KaijuX In reply to scorpsub123 [2009-07-12 15:41:31 +0000 UTC]

That's Gorosaurus, not Gorgosaurus.

firadart In reply to ??? [2009-05-07 17:48:44 +0000 UTC]

Now theres a problem. Now that Kong is Godzilla size, would you make Gorosaurus giant now. Or would you say there were two Kongs now? And awesome redesign. Looks more dino then the original.

hewhowalksdeath In reply to ??? [2009-03-03 04:10:31 +0000 UTC]

But I like it when he burrows...whimpers*

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

KaijuX In reply to hewhowalksdeath [2009-04-18 20:30:02 +0000 UTC]

Gorosaurus's role in burrowing was meant to be Baragon's, but the suit of Baragon was destroyed because that suit was used for a show of some kind (Ultraman I think?). So he ended up in the cameo section, and Gorosaurus replaced him during the attack at Paris.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

hewhowalksdeath In reply to KaijuX [2009-04-19 03:23:15 +0000 UTC]

I see.
yes, Baragon's suit was used on either Magura or Neronga (I think it's Magura since it came in nearly the same time as the movie did, but it could also be Neronga, since the suit is from the original Baragon)

It's still a cool idea. I mean, Gorosaurus is a special monster. I mean how many monsters are there in Japan that are tooth and nail?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

KaijuX In reply to hewhowalksdeath [2009-04-19 12:25:45 +0000 UTC]

Very few. Titanosaurus is one, but he has the Cyclone Tail. Then there's Jet Jaguar, I guess. The only special weapon he has, other than flight and changing size, is his lights from his eyes, but even that doesn't do much except blinding the opponent.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

hewhowalksdeath In reply to KaijuX [2009-04-20 09:36:20 +0000 UTC]

titanosaurus, yeah. Jet jagur, not much. he's a size shifting robot, man-made, not what i like to call "natural" creature.
