Description
Reptile MonsterZILLA
HEIGHT: 50 meters
MASS: 15,000 metric tons
BIO:
In the bleary summer of 1998, thunderous footsteps shook the streets of New York City, and a shrieking roar shattered windows. Buildings were smashed, landmarks pulverized, fish trucks....eaten?
Headlines blared "GODZILLA TAKES A BITE OUT OF THE BIG APPLE!," "KING OF THE MONSTERS IN NYC!," and vendors lined the streets selling shirts declaring "Godzilla Was Here!" and photographs were taken in the massive footprints left in the monster's wake.
Of course, within days, it was all too obvious that Godzilla had NOT attacked New York, had NOT dug tunnels throughout the city, laid 100 eggs in Madison Square Garden, or died from 6 Tomahawk missles on the Brooklyn Bridge. It was instead a beast later known as "Zilla," or "Godzilla In Name Only" by the Kaiju Zoological and Enthusiast community, had chosen the metropolis as a place to lay its eggs and find food (WHY is subject to question). Despite the fact that the King of the Monsters had NOT died at the hands of the US Airforce, they sure liked to believe he did, and the announcements to the contrary were severely downplayed in the media.
Regardless, Biologist Nick Tatopolous knew that there was a very, VERY good chance that not all of the creature's eggs were destroyed in the blast that obliterated the nest. Leading a small search party, Nick discovered a lone egg. Hatching and imprinting on the scientist, "Zilla Jr," as it came to be nicknamed, began to follow Nick with incredible loyalty and intelligence, proving itself to be not only an efficient and agile fighter, but a benevolent kaiju at that.
The real question remained, however, as to where the original came from. That answer came in the form of Phillip Roche, and his protege', Monique Dupre. Part of a French Special Forces sector, the two were charged by their superiors to "clean up a mess" left from a series of experiments conducted in French Polynesia, were 5 "G-Cell Mutations" had escaped after a catastrophic accident (it is believed that S.C.A.L.E., a pro-kaiju rights organization/eco terrorist cell, was involved in these events). Nick Tatopolous, forming the H.E.A.T. team, hunted down all the remaining mutations, with Zilla's help, of course.
After a particularly traumatic event in Alaska, Zilla was later taken to Monster Island, where he would spend the remainder of his life...MOST of it, anyway...
ABILITIES/ASPECTS:
- Can run at 200 MPH
- Burrowing ability rivals Baragon's
- Can spit radiation-charged fire
- Very light healing factor
- Razor-whip tail
- Agility makes up for lack of resistance to heavy weapon fire

Zilla's son is in the Toho monster hall of fame you know. They liked the series one ALOT. He has been officialy renamed Godzilla Jr. Not "Zilla Jr". A Godzilla fan such as yourself should know this. :\
Zilla and Godzilla Jr RULE. Hope Godzilla Jr makes it into the next Godzilla game...

It's not that I ever disliked Gino or Zilla it's just I think he should have never been given the Godzilla title.
Other than that's he's pretty cool I guess

Finally someone who appreciates the american zilla like I do. You should totally have a graphic novel. I know I would read it.

Same here!!
Welcome to Jurassic Park.
To your left is the T-rex that will eat you in about 10 minutes.
To your right, the dilophosaurus that will spit acid in your face.
And in front of you is Godzilla, charging his nuclear breath... now would be a good time to run.

Now I look at it the jaw looks a bit strange squared off like that, though it could simply be the angle.

*looks arund suspiciously* Shhh, don't let anybody see that.
Yeah I looked uo some official Zilla pics, both film and series and saw I'd goofed. Decided to just hope my comment wouldn't be noticed. So yeah, my bad.
And I still call the film Zilla and the series Zilla: The Series instead. Helps seperate the two and lets Zilla stand on its own. I think so anyways.

We need Godzilla: The Series raised from the dead, but as an adult series, which would allow for a lot more characterization, plot expansion, and artistic flair.
I'm thinking it should be based on the new movie coming out from Legendary Pictures, if it does well that is.

Zilla: The Series . It should be resurrected under that name, fitting that the monster is not Godzilla so therefore a second TV series shouldn't be called 'Godzilla' either. Mothra and Rodan got movies titled after themselves, so it makes sense. I think so anyways.

Well if the new movie does well, I don't think anyone would mind much if we call it Godzilla: The Series.
Or you could make a series out of the entire Godzilla/Kaiju history. It would be a neat way to help bring in fresh blood to the franchise, and help people make sense of the overall Kaiju universe.

ALL HAIL THE MIGHTY ZILLA!
I am one of the rare Godzilla fans that actually like Zilla. I was shocked by the movie, but I had no real trouble accepting him as Godzilla. Anyway...always glad to see him not being flamed.

Zilla's only real sin was not being Godzilla.
Otherwise, he was a pretty kick-ass monster.

Yeah except Zilla was killed 6 years prior to this occurrence meaning the only logical explanation is that it was Zilla Jr. that Godzilla obliterated.

I think Toho said it wasn't Jr., though I forget where I read that. So maybe it's another Zilla after all if one egg survived the bombing it's possable that another did as well.

Actually it's been hinted at there being a species of Zillas I believe there were multiple Iguanas on the Island when the nuclear tests went off. Plus Zilla Jr. is actually tough and has Atomic Fire. Neither characteristics were in Final Wars.

Zilla gets no love. So glad that Toho made him an official part of the Godzilla lineup so he can stand alone as a unique creation and along with the other monsters.

not trying to put down your work, but it was 12 Tomahawk missles(each et sot 2 at once), up to 200 eggs, and he was almost twice the size of Komodithrax and C-Rex in the series. still, its freaking AWESOME!

idk, i was dissapointed when zilla died so fast, i watched the animated series, and was expecting more of a fight, but i think TOHO was merely mocking our version anyway.

I love godzilla (american) people can say what they want but I grew up on both godzilla & the original (japanese, just incase anyone gets confused.) so i love both equally.

Zilla is a perfect alternate name for this beast for the fans that actually consider this to be just another monster in the world of Godzilla. Big Z here was my childhood monster that I watched when I was a kid (ok, I'll admit, I saw the old cartoon series and loved it. That's how I was drawn to watch the American movie).
This one is faster, agile, a fast swimmer, adaptable, smart, powerful, leaner, meaner, and willing to help (not to mention that his fire blast is green! Perfect tribute to the original green meanie).
Of course, I'm defending for Junior (from the series). All Papa Zilla did was cause millions in property damage for the Big Apple.(But it was so hilarious that he did it without effort! Plus, he made the army look ridiculous in trying to solve the problem.)

SEE! That's what I think! American Godzilla is a what-if if Jap. Godzilla was leaner, faster, could dig and swim faster, and make one hell of a roar sound! (sounds so badass loud and proud!) plus the Zilla Jr. would have GREEN atomic breath (homage to the mean green machine we all know and love! ^^)
