Because in the IDW continuity, SpaceGodzilla, Monster X, Hedorah and Gigan are space born while Godzilla, Rodan, Mothra, Battra, Titanosaurus, Anguirus and Kumonga are Earth born. Kiryu is Earth made.

I really, and I mean REALLY don't know. The closest we get for origin stories are for Godzilla (gigantic until he gets nuked and gains his atomic ray and grows even bigger), Rodan (hatches out of an egg that was hidden inside a piece of crystal found in the crater where the Tunguska Event took place), Hedorah (starts out as a bunch of spores before absorbing trash, mud and other unsavory substances) and MechaGodzilla(s) (both built by humans). Otherwise, the monsters in the IDW comic universe just show up with only a mass die-off of animals to signal their rising. Well, the Earth born Kaiju anyway, most of the SPACE Kaiju just show up.

Very nice. I just wish it wasn't so hard for me to get your covers. I got lucky and got the original Anguirus cover, and that was at a premium. It would be awesome if they'd include your variants in the digital copies any least. Seems I only get to see them here.

Something tells me that Titanosaurus is going to regret bitting that tail.....But it is so nice to see the sludge effect on Hedorah done right. I really looks like he is just living muck the way you have the spider kaiju just taking out one of his eyes

Or really any other tough ass Godzilla monster, Destroyah, SpaceGodzilla, regular King Ghidorah. Destroyah was actually the monster they were going to use for the end battle.
