Godzilla would win hands down. I mean, the difference in name alone should be a clue to that.
They killed Zilla with a couple of missiles. Whole armies will shoot at Godzilla and it doesn't even slow him down.

Yeah but that was mostly just Toho replying to TriStar and siding with fan reactions at the time. Just listen to the music's lyrics, it sums up what Toho thinked of what TriStar did to Godzilla.

I'm like the only one that thinks Zilla is cooler....I like him, he makes more sense then Godzilla, and his deisgn is a tad more realistic...
Plus his animated series was all kinds of badass...

The animated series was all KINDS of badass.
Of course, if you wanna' talk "realistic," Godzilla proper is considerably more realistic. His mass is shifted in a primarily vertical direction, meaning that he doesn't have the same balancing issues that Zilla would have. A vertically positioned animal like Zilla would need to walk on all fours nearly constantly in order to maintain balance.
Then again, kaiju are inherently impossible, so it's ALL unrealistic

Well the the thing is Zilla is aligned horizontal, like most theropods where (I know he's a mutated Marine Iguana), and the fact that he can function well in terms of locomotion as both a biped & a quadruped means that in the mobility department he has a leg up on Godzilla.

I love Zilla, and I am getting kind of sick of the hate. It's almost like it's popular to pick on the guy. I think he was a super fun design, and I actually enjoyed the human interaction. I really loved the cartoon series as well, and that's not just nostalgia talking, since I've rewatched a chunk of it again.

It really just has to do with him starting out as a misguided redesign of Godzilla. I kinda like to still think of him as a Godzilla, but he's also different enough to be his own kaiju. I like Zillasaurus better than just "Zilla", given how similar he is to Rhedosaurus.Β

No, he got his butt kicked because Toho all off sudden gave Godzilla super speed. No one can tell me that this big guy would be able to turn 180Β° in less then a second. If he allready had his backside to Zilla then it would have been another story.

No, Toho was just pissed, Zilla Jr. would probably be equal of a match for Godzilla 2000, in fact Zilla Jr, is faster both on land and in the water...

Doesn't matter if he's faster. Godzilla's regenerative abilities and energy blast are far stronger. The original Zilla got taken out by a missile from a jet. Godzilla just brushes them off like pebbles. Zilla is just a poor man poser of the real king of monsters.
