He should have. The493Darkrai is right, Toho just sided with overly butt-hurt fans, which is ironic given they (Toho)Β approvedΒ of Zilla's design as a Godzilla design.

It was definitely too one-sided. To be honest, another Toho kaiju (Varan or Titanosaurus) would have been preferable. But, it is what it is.

Sorry there's just no reason to call Zilla as "Gino",Β when Zilla is his official name and he is no longer legally Godzilla. Only the 1998 film can be called "GINO", then again it can just be called "the 1998 film" without using that name.

That doesn't count. That fight was horrible, in my opinion. In fact that movie was just Godzilla punching everyone in the face with no real fighting involved.Β

How was it horrible? You guys take things way too seriously, the movie was about aliens who were controlling around 20 monsters which the humans then release Godzilla to destroy them all so they could get to the mothership to do crazy kung fu shit with the aliens... you expected something like an honorable fight between Godzilla and all the monsters or what

And that's all fine, but for a 50th anniversary movie, I expected something memorable. I really just don't see Final Wars as a good 50th send-off. It was decent, some of the fights were silly, that Xillean kid was a whiney little bitch (which made him hilarious honestly), and it just didn't feel like a good send off, to me. Plus, they decided to show Hedorah, but for three seconds only to have him impaled by a tossed Ebirah and Atomic Breath'd. That was a major disappointment considering the last (and first) time you saw Hedorah was in a spectacular and powerful movie. I, myself, just feel Final Wars wasn't the send off Godzilla deserved for his Over the Hill film. With films like Destroy All Monsters, Godzilla vs. Hedorah, and Godzilla vs. Destoroyah, I think Toho could have done better for their final movie before the break.Β
Hopefully Gareth Edwards delivers with Godzilla in 2014!

I can see where you're coming from, I felt the same way about the Heisei Gamera series on how it ended so abruptly . I just love Final Wars for what it was: a nonsensical monster action flick with an insane pace of story that reminded me of a roller coaster ride .The movie pretty much has everything that I could ask for in a movie in general which is why it ends up being my favorite movie ever but I guess everyone has different tastes in movies... mine just happens to be pure insanity 
Okay, Godzilla vs Destoroyah was awesome... but are you seriously comparing Final Wars to Destroy All Monsters and Godzilla vs Hedorah

That wasn't the whole movie. Did you forget about Monster X I & II? The last Gigan fight with Mothra? Godzilla vs. his old partners? There's a few fights that lasted more than 30 seconds. Also, yeah, that doesn't really count as a fight butΒ it WAS Zilla's introduction to the Godzilla universe (if you don't believe that GMK and 1998 are connected by the reference, cuz I do). Although Zilla 2004 and Zilla 1998 were different, "Godzilla" 1998 got renamed to Zilla with his trademark's cancellation by Toho in 2005. But, that's not what we're talking about.

Right, I knew that about Zilla. And sure, the Gigan vs. Mothra fight and the Godzilla vs. Monster X were interesting, but the Big G vs. his old pals? It was a little silly with the mini soccer game they played with Anguirus. To me, G: Final Wars was not a good 50th Anniv. movie. They tried a different take on Destroy All Monsters and, in my opinion, it didn't really work. The final fight with Keizer Ghidorah didn't feel like the send-off fight it should have been. That's just me though.Β

Yeah, the Zilla film was crap, but the monster itself is pretty cool. A thinner, smaller, more agile version of Godzilla makes for an interesting character.
