Description
The lineart portion of a commission for , and I really like how this one is coming out.The directive was "Godzilla and Anguirus playfully wrestling," but I admittedly was having trouble making it look like these two giant thorny dinosaur monsters weren't just trying to strangle each other, and I hit upon this concept and really liked it.

The only time I've ever seen anyone get away with abusing Goji's tail was when Minya stepped on it in the Son of Godzilla. I was surprised he didn't get up and smack him but Goji was acting kinda anemic throughout that entire movie anyhow.

At first, I thought it was more like a tribute to "Gojira No Gyakushu", but when I read the comment and looked at Anguirus' eyes, it now really looks like its a playful wrestling match (although its gotten a little aggressive to stay "playful for long! LOL)!

This is really nice linework. Very detailed and very precise. I'm pretty sure in saying that you inked the linework with pen?
Either way, great linework and I can't wait to see this colored. BTW, Godzilla really does look pissed off compared to Anguirus who looks like a playful child.

Angy ( who appears huge due to perspective ) definately looks playful here, while Goji is definately not happy about his tail being bitten. "Damn it, not again!"

Yeah, Giant monsters who get angry enough to stomp Tokyo into the ground from a stray handkerchief are difficult to make not... look angry.

You should give this a bit of color. And by that I mean just Angy's eyes. And they should be baby blue.

Looks like when a dad or someone does that "gotcha nose" thing. Angy just running around, "I gotcha tail, I gotcha tail..." G-man looks like he is getting pissed with this kidding around.

Unfortunately, seems that Godzilla is incapable of fun, but at least Anguirus is trying anyway.
The perspectives look strange, It seems like Godzilla's tail isn't quite in the foreground, and Angi's head looks really huge.

The closest thing I ever saw of these two being playful was a picture out of a childrens book called, "Godzilla Likes To Roar!"

Oh that's cool. Anguirus looks like he's pretty playful, but Godzilla looks a little grumpy, he obviously doesn't like having his tail nipped on. Of course Godzilla's been through worse, so a nip on the tail is nothing to freak out about. I like how Anguirus has his classic look to him though.
Nice background too, I look forward to seeing it coloured.

I love the contrast between their two faces. This is probably what I imagine is going on in their heads:

the two characters alone, are classics of the classics
Anguirus being Godzilla's first 'rival' Kaiju
so if it comes out looking a little more hostile than expected, I think it's a good thing
allows some of that old rivalry to bleed through
cause we all know afterwards, they're both gonna share a beer or two and laugh it all off >

He does a fair amount of biting, but he's never actively eaten anything onscreen aside from nuclear radiation and a mini-sub.
He was chasing whales in GHIDRAH: THE THREE HEADED MONSTER, and Godzilla Junior had a taste for blubbery goodness in GODZILLA VS. DESTOROYAH.

It does seem playful, but from what I've seen, doing anything to his tail usually means you're either going to die in about 10 seconds, or that you're just plain screwed.
