As for the movie version, it's like the designers looked at Goldar and said, "No. This guy's too goofy-looking. It's make him a faceless robot like the one from the first Thor movie. Oh, and his personality needs to go too."

It's a pretty interesting take on the concept. Β Granted, the new trailer made me feel less hate towards the new design, but still, I don't care it that much. Oh well, I think this looks pretty awesome.

This is just so much better than the movie design. I'm a long time MMPR fan and I'm just so disappointed in the overuse of the Drama, the lame outfit for Rita, and the lackluster look for Goldar who's just a rock monster now instead of an intelligent right hand man of Rita who was dangerous AND crafty and was never destroyed.
I like your fusion of concepts, at least here it really looks like him.
Yes, Ritas monsters were made out of clay and the rock monster angle for goons is fine but reducing Goldar to a rock monster is just sad.
