Description
"I like the concept of the movie's monsters all being golems made from stone, mud, and gold. So I wanted to take a crack at Goldar since everyone liked the Rita that I designed for Max Landis a few years back!Related content

This looks more awesome than the one from the new movie.

While I'm not keen on the "golem" concept for Goldar (I prefer the armored cat beast from the show), your redesign is 100 times better than the movie version. At least he looks like Goldar and not some oversize action figure someone took a blow torch to its outside.
Outstanding job, Matt. I wouldn't mind seeing more of your movie redesigns of Power Rangers.

honestly Goldar is still one of my favorite Power Rangers monsters out from the original series alongside Scorpina, at least in the first few seasons before they made him into a comic relief.Β

You know after seeing this and your Rita, I wouldnt mind your take on Lord Zedd or perhaps the Machine King. Great work

Sadly what the directors have in their favor it that anybody who remembers the source material.....Is considered old
The a direct likeness of the source material today would be considered too stupid to put on screen

Mm...
I'm kinda hoping that there is actually a scene at the end of the movie that reveals melty!Goldar is actually a sort of chrysalis for a more...close-to-the-original Goldar. You know, a monsterous lion/ape hybrid.

I like how you've blended the best of both versions (still on the fence on movie Goldar, though).

This makes more sense conceptually, and it acknowledges the source material better than just being a featureless, molten monster.

I agree with Alpha 5, I was expecting more from this film

While I'd prefer Goldar to be a flesh and blood creature wearing golden armor, & be part of an actual gang of alien monsters led by Rita, I must admit your spin on Goldar manages to make the film's awful concept for him work (sorry, I just hate how he's been reduced to a generic molten metal monster instead of the kickass space griffin he used to be). I'd probably love this as a powered up, final form version for the classic Goldar better though >;3

Reminds me of NeoGriffozer from Kyoryuger vs Gobusters
powerrangers.wikia.com/wiki/Neβ¦
But yeah certainly yours is a much better look.
And yeah considering the putties in Zyuranger were called "golems" I actually give the movie points for that.

Everything looks better than the movie look XD. Seriously, what were they thinking? Goldar isn't just a random villain of the weak, he's a main antagonist! >_<

Okay, I like this! Guess the official one just doesn't have enough exposure yet for any real favors...but yeah, having the new Dora Monsters be actual golems and constructs definitely makes for more interesting designs and characters! Love this version, too!

Looks Awesome!
I also like the geomantic nature of the new movie monsters, although my first impression of Goldar was more that he's made of cheese rather than gold (might look better in the finished product).
