Of all the Australian creatures to turn into a giant monster, the kangaroo would have been very low on the list. But considering the intentionally rediculous nature of this project, he's a pretty good fit. And by far the scariest marsupial I've ever seen.

My point is that you've drawn such incredible looking monsters over the years and then this... this turns up and somehow have the potential to end up in the game, I just find it incredibly ridiculous.

Again, why do you care? The majority of the monsters created for this game are creator-owned - when a contributor donates $500, we work with them to make a new monster for the game. Ergo, giant kangaroo. I'm still baffled as to why this is so "ridiculous"...why you think it somehow affects the game as a whole.

Why do I care? Well I if you haven't checked out my account, I sure do love giant monsters myself and I really had some hopes for a great giant monster game and if not work on one some day. So I had actually planned to pledge, but now if that Kangaroo thing have the possibility to end up in the game, I feel that it has the potential to break the immersion and the Aesthetics.
I was hopeful to see some great looking creatures and not someone's so called fursuit/fursona that is a plain green Kangaroo that has no monster look to it at all... and it suppose to be in a giant MONSTER game. I mean while your at it, add a blue pig, a pink bunny or a purple sloth. That's pretty much the same thing.

Way to twist the comment, it's obvious the game wont contain TONS of character cuz you wont put in a thousand character in it so dont make false statements, and dont you dare call a character by 10 diffrent names cuz it changes color or has spikes while the other on has wings.

I didn't say "a thousand" characters, I said "tons" because the plan is to create successive tiers of releases, each one adding new monsters to the game. So yes, there WILL be "tons" of monsters.

I don't know why everyone hates him on the wiki and everything, I find him amusing and awesome. You always should have at least one adversary that's a witty comic relief in some way. Nothing wrong with a giant kangaroo that's about nothing but speed and melee combat. Such a silly fellow

I agree. Duncan's my favorite character so far... And its EXACTLY because he's silly and breaks the standard kaiju mold. I would get a kick out of it if he was actually one of the more powerful characters in the game in terms of gameplay.

And why would we do that? Our goal is to integrate a variety of monsters created by fans. We're much LESS likely to utilize other giant monochromatic mammals at this point.

I seriously like Duncan. Seriously. I mean come on there was Gamara and he was a tard. There's nothing wrong with Duncan. It's like when you make and OC, this is actually as good as it gets. Full of plenty weakness but also has a strength that makes them stand out. He also has an amusing touch to him. And what about the effing giant red lobster? Remember that one? I do. I don't see anyone flipping hell about it. So hey, Duncan's pretty cool.

People who like Duncan don't seem to understand the problem of the people who don't. Our problem isn't that he's a kangaroo. I personally love the idea of a kangaroo monster. Our problem is that he needs to look like a kaiju kangaroo and he doesn't. He's just kaiju-sized and is green. Yes, Mothra is a butterfly, Ebirah is a lobster and King Kong is a gorilla... but they're all kaiju versions of the animals.

Some animals require more embellishment than others. There's not a whole lot you could alter about a roo to make it a kaiju beyond the proportions - and the proportions have been altered already.
Plus, I think kangaroos get a bit of a pass for already having the default kaiju body type.

In all fairness, ultimately the creator of each monster has final approval over what we do with the character. Many of our monster creators have been extremely flexible (Dragon Lotus, for example, is EXTREMELY different from her initial concept), whereas with a character like Duncan, the creator was adamant that nothing really be "changed" about the character, and we had to respect that decision.
Ultimately, it comes down to the simple fact that you don't have to play as Duncan. There's plenty of other monsters for everyone to enjoy

Hah, he's really awesome and silly looking. Why should giant theropods be the only ones with awesome kangaroo kicks, and not, you know, a kangaroo? Very interesting padding on his feet and hands however.
