and, i am fan of both kong and godzilla. and yes. kong inspired godzilla ( kong and the fleischer´s superman animated episode "the arctic giant") the thing about the 62 film is, kong was super popular in japan.
as for a real fight, maybe kong's speed and reach are superior. but, let's face it, godzilla's stamina and endurance make this fight very interesting to see

as for peter jackson's movie. it is more a personal opinion, i think it was too much drama and too little kong, but again, personal opinion, kong himself was amazing, i loved the scars and battle damage look they gave him.
some people think the same about godzilla 2014, i think he was there more than enough time, and he did a great job saving the world

Kong is not fully grown in Skull Island and it takes place in the 70's. By the time Godzilla vs King Kong takes place (in 2020), Kong will have grown. And technically in 1962 Godzilla had more power than Kong, but he still put up one hell of a fight. Don't worry. Neither one will give up with out a fight. Never underestimate the power of a Kaiju.
