Rexplosion is a particularly powerful saurian kaiju infamous for it's aggression and destructive potential. They live in massive sprawling caverns that form within dormant or active volcanoes, and have evolved extensive adaptations to their harsh environment. The thick red scales of the Rexplosion are so heat resistant that they can withstand direct contact with the magma that surrounds them. In fact, Rexplosions are even known to warm themselves up by "swimming" in large bodies of molten rock. The five dorsal spikes on the Rexplosions back are used as heat conductors for thermoregulation. These heavily modified scales contain large quantities of basalt, making them more efficient in absorbing ambient heat. Rexplosions have been shown the ability to absorb and metabolize radiation as their primary form of sustenance. Because of this alternative energy source, they don't need to hunt nearly as much or as often as other carnivores of their weight class.

When in conflict, Rexplosions are able to "burn up" the excess energy stored in their bodies, and generate an explosive blast spewed up from their throat. This intense blast of flame can reach temperatures of 6,000°C, which makes Rexplosions more than capable of dispatching most other kaiju. The volcanic minerals infused into their scales allows them to withstand the heat of their own fire, but also more obviously grants them great resistance to physical attack from enemy kaiju. This shear bulk and destructive potential is what enables Rexplosions to bully dragons out of food and territory.

Ancient records from the time of the Great War show that Rexplosions were one of the biggest threats to humanity. These kaiju are known for their immense temper, growing in offensive power with every hit they take. A rampaging Rexplosion is possibly the most dangerous thing one can encounter, as they can level entire cities in a matter of hours, and will mindlessly destroy everything in their paths until they calm.

Wild Rexplosions are not particularly social, but the limited availability of volcanic space to call home, they're forced to live in close proximity with many others of their kind, leading to frequent aggression. They form a loose social hierarchy based on power, age, and stature, with the largest bull Rexplosions being the most dominant. These large males get exclusive access to the best basking spots, the most mates, and get to eat first, while the lesser losers have to make do with whatever's left of all three. If a Rexplosion is seen in a non volcanic environment and isn't hunting, chances are it was pushed out by a larger male, and is on the search for a new home. Daring and experienced Tamers will flock to any area where a Rexplosion has been spotted, in hopes of being the first to capture and tame it.
