Description For those of you who refuse to watch any form of Godzilla: Final Wars, I present to you a good idea of what Zilla would have looked like... Except more lame in CGI.

LOL! The FW Zilla was CG because the idea was to mock the creature (hence the relatively short battle). What's funny is that having a Zilla suit IS very possible! Heck, there were suits for the Baby Zillas.

In the film, yeah... Shame, because promotional trailers and certain stills, he looked REALLY good. Poor Zilla; got his arse whooped hard. But I guess the fandom needed that sense of retaliation at the time.

This really makes you think. You'd think that since Japan's anime is the best in the world bar none, they would make an anime Godzilla movie that would look amazing compared to shoving guys in rubber suits and cheap looking computer animation.

With the amount of time Godzilla's been around, it still shocks me (yes, I've given this thought) that there hasn't been a homemade (by that, I mean in Japan) anime series of Godzilla. It doesn't even need to be movies, per se; it could easily be a series. But regardless of the matter, a Godzilla anime series would be awesome, regardless of its tone.

I never really liked they did it, it just was pretty imature in my opinion but ah well what are you going to do about it *shrugs* zilla haters should just let it go, it's been nearly 20 years since the movie came out. You'd think by now they'd just give poor Zilla a restalready, he's a cool monster in his own right

Until the day that the public forgets or acknowledges the 1998 film, Zilla is probably going to have haters for the rest of his days.

that's true, but you'd think they'd be over it by now least .w.

Wow, it looks like they only gave the monster one material for his entire body. I'm surprised they even made his eyes stand out. You could tell they didn't give two shits. Ugh.
I love you Toho, I really do, but sloppy is sloppy. Jeez.

I've learned quite a bit from modeling 3D stuff, so this is like... horrid.
I'm also a Zilla fan as well. Even after they made their point by killing him off, they're still making money off of him. *shrug*

KaijuX In reply to Demonic-Pokeyfruit [2014-05-24 20:35:00 +0000 UTC]

I'm not even sure if his eyes stood out like that. It's sad, really. Because in the GFW trailer, he actually looked REALLY good! Look at around 1:30 in the video.

www.youtube.com/watch?v=_aZKHs…

And while Zilla still does make money, Toho prefers to distance themselves. If they could rename all the DVDs and merchandise to Zilla, they would. Heck, as far as they're concerned, the first American Godzilla's height is 108 meters. And that's the size of the 2014 version.

Demonic-Pokeyfruit In reply to KaijuX [2014-05-24 22:45:43 +0000 UTC]

I dunno. It seems like they still paid more attention to their own monsters. Even Anguirus in the trailer when he was given an entirely CG scene looked like he was given more care. I still can understand why though.

I still have not seen Final Wars. It looks like a totally cracked out movie. Just insanity.

One thing about 98 I wish they did was utilize the animatronic head for the monster more. They only use it in like... 5 scenes. You're gonna go and make a huge head like that up to Jurassic Park standards and you're not even going to use it? Are you kidding me?

KaijuX In reply to Demonic-Pokeyfruit [2014-05-25 13:40:26 +0000 UTC]

Aye, the rest of the monsters look nice in CG. Zilla just got the crapper, if only for the reason of insult. I think the brutal loss would have been more than enough. And yes, FW is a crazy, crazy film. All flash, no substance, but still a lot of fun. Also, Don Frye.

Aye, with ya there. I actually saw production photos of them having a Zilla SUIT, believe it or not. Just look at the link below, and you'll see!

Actually, the fanbase reaction was a freakin' 75/25 (75 being acceptance, 25 being rejected). Oh man, it was crazy. But if you can help pre-order/buy Rulers of Earth at your local comic shop, please do! And if you have no idea where one is, then just use this website:

I hear they used a toy as a model for Zilla in the movie...I forget which one though. I think it was the 18 inch Ultimate Godzilla figure.

POOVER [2013-02-23 17:03:46 +0000 UTC]

Pretty good changes you made. I am Japanese, but I really don't like the way people show disrespect towards Godzilla 1998 (I personally don't like to call him/ her as "Zilla" or "GINO") and this movie as well, for treating those monsters to be mocked...

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

KaijuX In reply to POOVER [2013-02-23 18:30:21 +0000 UTC]

Thanks! All I did was a simple edit with Photoshop and followed with the idea of the all grey Zilla of Final Wars (despite the trailers having EPIC amounts of detail).

On a personal note, I think Zilla deserves to be his own monster, but not mocked about it. And all the other monsters of Final Wars weren't meant to be mocked; just Zilla. Just happens that Godzilla had mary-sue strength in that film.

POOVER In reply to KaijuX [2013-02-24 11:19:03 +0000 UTC]

This always bothered me but is the zilla in final wars zilla jr from the animated series? The one from 1998 film?Or another surviving zilla from the 1998 movie?
Cause i couldn't figure it out back in 2004 and still can't now.

Final Wars. This Zilla has no relations with the 1998 film or its spin-off.

KaijuX In reply to ImaKaijuFan2 [2012-05-18 16:44:00 +0000 UTC]

It's not a problem! And also, the Godzillas of the Millennium series have no relations with Godzilla Junior, either.

ImaKaijuFan2 In reply to KaijuX [2012-05-18 17:08:19 +0000 UTC]

Damn i wish they would though cause i hate how toho just keeps on remaking their films with no connection to their previous ones except the original godzilla 1954 film.

Just for the hell of it and out pure fandom this is how i see the family tree.

Minya = Godzilla 1984-1995 and Godzilla Jr.= Godzilla 2000-2004

KaijuX In reply to ImaKaijuFan2 [2012-05-18 17:17:36 +0000 UTC]

I dunno what the case was for the Millennium series (with the exception of Godzilla: Tokyo SOS, of course). I guess they just wanted to do some quote-unquote "one-shot" movies because G was taken out of retirement early thanks to Zilla. However, I did hear that the first 3 Millennium films were meant to be individual (Godzilla 2000, Godzilla X Megaguirus and one other (not GMK)), then people would vote for which movie had the most potential to be a series, then run along making sequels to that movie. However, because of the failure of the box-office of G2K and GXM, that never came to light. Luckily, GMK was able to succeed in the box-office terms, but that didn't get a sequel... But it would be hard to make a good sequel on a film like GMK.

ImaKaijuFan2 In reply to KaijuX [2012-05-18 20:28:02 +0000 UTC]

Still toho should learn to continue the series not as "one shot"movies or remakes but as a continuity series like how they do with comics books I.E batman,superman,spider-man etc.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

KaijuX In reply to ImaKaijuFan2 [2012-05-18 22:48:21 +0000 UTC]

They did that in the Showa (more like a soft reboot) and Heisei. But I agree, they should start with a Godzilla series that has a definitive continuity rather than reboots.

ImaKaijuFan2 In reply to KaijuX [2012-05-18 22:52:40 +0000 UTC]

Exactly so that way godzilla could have re-matches with old enemies such as kong and destroyah and new ones like the ones un made like bagan!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

KaijuX In reply to ImaKaijuFan2 [2012-05-18 23:12:53 +0000 UTC]

Kong I highly doubt. But the Gargantuas make a nice substitute!

ImaKaijuFan2 In reply to KaijuX [2012-05-19 03:44:41 +0000 UTC]

Or maybe just the green one since the brown is a good guy.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

KaijuX In reply to ImaKaijuFan2 [2012-05-19 05:03:32 +0000 UTC]

Well, Godzilla was the 'bad guy' of KKvG, so Sanda would be rather ideal for that cause. But if Godzilla was the 'good guy', Gaira would be fitting for that role. But have them both? Oh, boy. That would be sweet!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

ImaKaijuFan2 In reply to KaijuX [2012-05-19 05:25:57 +0000 UTC]

Yeah but let's not forget even if godzilla is the bad guy wouldn't godzilla try and kill garia since godzilla is known for not working well with others not to mention that the Gargantuas are somewhat ape related so wouldn't godzilla think that they're kongs?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

KaijuX In reply to ImaKaijuFan2 [2012-05-19 13:51:37 +0000 UTC]

You're making as if it was a sequel to KKvG. But either case, it doesn't matter the role of Godzilla; he'll go after both Gargantuas. But of course that is up to the writer to behold.

You know? when i was a kid and i was watching the current Power Ranger shows (Wild Force for example) i've always wondered why they are still using guys in monster costumes when they can use computers to digitaly generate images on the screen......THIS (picture) is the answer i've got.

KaijuX In reply to horaciosi [2012-01-04 10:47:00 +0000 UTC]

Well, more like the in-movie version of this picture. Coloration is about the same, but the detail in film is MUCH worse. Though this is intentional, seeing that even the trailers of GFW actually made him look GOOD.

You improved him. I hated that huge tongue and tiny eyes. They are still here, but they look cooler.

KaijuX In reply to JJMcStarly [2011-12-04 02:19:41 +0000 UTC]

Well, thanks. But I didn't do anything with him. I just colored him in. It's funny, because the trailer of GFW and the pic on Toho Kingdom actually have Zilla with GOOD detail. Like the pic above, but with a more "Godzilla the Series" color scheme.

See?

I know, that's odd. Toho was never too great with CG. I hate how narrow his head is in this movie, too. It looks really stupid.

KaijuX In reply to JJMcStarly [2011-12-04 11:19:37 +0000 UTC]

Agreed. Though the film was intended to mock Zilla, so yeah... But he's still cool though. As his own monster, IMHO.
