Description
Preview of next clade I am working on: all skunks/Mephitidae of the world! With so variable coat patterns, one species can easily be mistaken for another, which doesn't make it easy for me to draw illustrations correctly! Here is some coat variants of Mephitis genus, displayed is M. macroura, hooded skunk. It's sister species, M.mephitis or striped skunk, has shorter fur, shorter tail, and smaller tympanic bullae. Both species can go all the way from almost entirely black to almost entirely white (or completely in case of albinos but let's not go there for now, okay?)
