Description
Been wanting to make this morph chart for a little while now. While there are, of course, more morphs than this, these are the eight main types. All common morphs (bottom row) share characteristics such as dark legs and palish faces. Any morph excluding one or both characteristics are almost always deemed uncommon or rare. Tune in next time when we take a look at general omarsum folklore and beliefs.-Common Morphs-
1: Sand
so-called for an overall "sandy" look achieved by the combination of light and unsaturated colors such as beige and light umber.
2: Caramel
the term for an omarsum when a significant amount of its fur is a brownish-orange -reminiscent of caramel.
3: Dark Sable
an omarsum sporting more dark brown around its coat. It is common for a dark sable to have dark markings around the eyes.
4: Cinnamon
these omarsums have a reddish tint to their fur, which can be seen more clearly in sunlight. Cinnamon morphs can be trickier to identify due to omarsums being nocturnal and rarely seen in the sunlight. It is common for a cinnamon to have eye markings.
5: Yellow-Throated
some omarsums are clad in a coat nearly identical to those of yellow-throated martens. Because of this, yellow-throated omarsums are oftentimes incorrectly labeled as martens by those with an untrained eye.
-Rare Morphs-
6: Ebony
also known as 'melanistic', Having a higher melanin production than other morphs, Ebony omarsums have a considerably darker coat and skin color- far more than that of a dark sable. These morphs are sometimes mistaken for minks.
7. Leucistic
a lack of melanin or most pigmentation results in a white or cream-colored omarsum.
8. Albino
nearly identical to a leucistic omarsum but the eyes lack pigmentation: resulting in red eyes susceptible to blindness caused by light. Albinos are more rare than leucistic omarsums.
THESE ARE NOT ADOPTABLES!
