Description: The weasel is the world's smallest carnivoran, the smallest caniform, and the smallest of all mustelids, but had the most widest distribution for all carnivorans, along with the stoat and the red fox. They can be easily recognize that they have long bodies, short mouse-like faces with sharp teeth, short legs, and a short bushy tail, and varied up fur. And by varied up fur, that the weasels' fur in summertime are reddish-brown with whitish undersides, and the winter fur of the weasels' are white with blackish tail tip. In European folklores and mythologies, that some weasels are good omens, but some others are being evil and bad. But they are like that of mongooses who killed snakes, which according to Pliny the Elder, that the weasel is the only animal that can kill a basilisk/cockatrice. Weasels are native to all over Europe, North Asia, North America, and even north Africa, but they are introduced to Australia, New Zealand, Argentina, Chile, Canary Islands, and other places where they are introduced. Their predators are included larger mustelids, foxes, eagles, owls, buzzards, snakes, and even stoats. The least weasel has a typical mustelid territorial pattern, consisting of exclusive male ranges encompassing multiple female ranges. The population density of each territory depends greatly on food supply and reproductive success, thus the social structure and population density of any given territory is unstable and flexible. Due to its small size and fierce nature, the least weasel plays an important part in the mythology and legend of various cultures. We do see weasels in movies(e.g. Wind and the Willows, Animals of Farthing Wood, etc.), TV Series(Animals of Farthing Wood, Animal Land, Looney Tunes, etc.), books, games, etc.
