Such a wonderful piece as always
I love these details and symbolism in the painting, everything is just perfect
Today I have stumbled upon a video on youtube about the LoK lore and this painting was included in there.

Thank you, I'm glad you like. This character was a lot of artistic freedom, aside of that oldie CGI render there were no visual guide to reference from. Β
Also thanks for letting me know about that video, I didn't knew about my painting was used. I wouldn't mind if it was credited. Checked the yadda-yadda about the uploader doesn't knows the owners of the works but they actually cropped out the name and address.Β

This looks so great. Nice to seeΒ one of the other guardians.
You don't see them very much.

Thank you. I needed a light source to give her some back lights, she's lit by warm lights on the front so picked a cold blue for her back. I'm glad you like Β

^^ I've been trying to re-invent a Dryad for my own story by making them (all female as Dryads are oak spirits and all female) anyway I'm trying to make them tall, lean long ears and I wanted to try and get them to be nearly bald but I can't seem to get the femininity right they all keep looking like guys xD anyway I love the character you've created because you were able to get that femininity while still keeping her looking fierce and powerful which is a great talent to have ^^ plus I also love your work x3

Excellent detail! What does that tiny engraving on the breastplate say? It looks like:
"...thm mother of mefe..."
I'm also interested on where you decided the light sources should be. It looks to me like she's lit by two lights on either side, just under shoulder height. This is less of a criticism and more me trying to expand my knowledge of light sources.

It says "fear is the mother of defeat". Found no fitting quotation for her so picked this old norse saying as it's matching her person.Β
The "indoor" light source is supposed to be at an average ceiling light level, that lights her face and body, and her back got a blueish lighting, needed a coloured light behind her that could come from the background, it gives more dimension to her figure than absorbing her into darkness.Β

Ooo vibrant, she looks more like a dark sorceress or a cult leader, brilliant work! And the progress is interesting too Very lovely work!

I really like this one The blue reflects off her wonderfully. I had a look at the progress pictures as well. I'm really impressed that you 'work blind' when you come to each colour.
