Description
More of these! It wouldn't be Zelda monsters without the one that you almost definitely saw first. I tried to make the whole family look both cohesive and diverse, while also representing some names that have been used more than once in whatever way makes them most interesting and unique. I kinda wanted the Sandocta's skin to have more of a kinda knobbly elbow-y look to it, but I think the point comes across regardless.Related content

it's more strange how little octoroks change across the series than anything else, really. they've been in near every single game and they still are pretty much the same minor pest they were back on the NES...
i wonder if they have any connection to ganondorf at all or of they're just an endemic natural threat in hyrule? they're not usually tied to any plots directly, after all.

it's tough to say, monsters and their origins are a complicated thing in any series, and this one has given us multiple instances of monster creation.
I have actually pondered this and realized the big split has been between 'actually moves around' and 'stays in one place like a turret' and i BET it's because 3d game animators don't want to try making tentacles move around properly to show crawling. So lazy.
