Well, this is a weird sendoff to 2023.

One of the more unexpected developments this year was that I got into the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise. I had absolutely no interest in the series for my entire life up until Pizza Tower, of all things, released and reminded me that I do, in fact, enjoy platformers. I decided to give the original games a second try, and now I've played most of the well-received games and am reading the comics. So, that's cool. Anyway, I thought up a scenario that amused me, and I decided I'd make a quick comic for the hell of it.

Well, "quick" in this case means 12 hours of work. I never really draw such heavily stylized characters like the Sonic series has, so it actually took me a fair bit of work to figure out how to draw these characters decently. I'm not 100% happy with the end result, but I think if I keep working on this, I'll lose my marbles so eh. I may very well make more Sonic fanart, might not. I operate on the basis that I'll only make things I want to make.

Anyway, I'll be posting some more serious stuff next month, some more flags certainly, and perhaps a few journals. We'll see/

Oh, and a transcription for our non-English compatriots:
Mimic: Go ahead and lock me up. I got out once before, I'll do it again. After all, you all are too weak to finish me off.
Jewel: Tangle, smack his nuts!
Tangle: Aye aye, captain!
Mimic: WHOA WHOA! I'LL BE GOOD! YOU CAN'T DO THIS!
