I'll be auctioning this design off for points!

Yeah.... I found that after watching this particular artist of started to wonder how I can go about doing big cats. kind figured if I participated in an auction or two I'd get a chance to try and figure out how to keep the anatomy right then again if I lose. I guess I'll try and make my own anyways. But...not sure what big cat I want. I know I love tigers.....my try my hand at that for a while until i get better at it. Definitely won't post it if I dun think it's good enough to be post up -shakes head- anyways ^.^ lets see how this will progress more before we get to that point shall we XD?

I've done ones like this,[link] it's like a cross between a saber and regular tiger, they're kinda fun to draw, but I'm not super good with big cats, it's mostly their faces that give me trouble.

O.o that's pretty good though ^.^ I understand....The faces of bigger cats have a much heavier bone structure. I'm so used to doing dragons and strange mix breeds that I'm not sure how to go about making a normal big cat. I have some chibi house cats but that's about it.

XD I dun trace. But it looks good either way. This was the best cat i've done so far [link] And this was for my parents who have a cat name Bullseye. >.< I kind named him my little brother I never had recently cause my actual real brother is a pain ;n; Anyways, yeah.....most of my work I hand sketch them with paper and a mechanical pencil, before I scan up load and over lay them into digital art format. I think my next step is to try and attempt doing back grounds now.

It looks really good! I trace from time to time, to get a vague shape, kinda like a shadow, then I detail it and add my own things to it, so after it usually only has the basic shape in common with whatever the base was.

XD I guess that would work. Most people to things visually while others need a practice line to get them going into it ^.^ Some people look at tracing as something to be frowned upon. I think it's a good way to try and find your own center and improve as an artist. Then again....some people demand that they be credited because of the tracing XD

lol yeah, If I'm gonna trace something, it's generally something from an actual photograph. And I try to link back to the original if I can remember it.
