Both are stoic and dogmatic characters who put their entire faith into their respective organizations.

As high ranking officials, they fight with quick and precise strikes that reflect their respect and honor towards other opponents.

Eventually, this organization is corrupted from within as it's manipulated from behind the scenes by an authority of high power.

They both also shared a disliking to a new found member of their organization, which lead to them holding some degree of unease towards them.

This lasted until it came to a clash. In Byakuya's case, his fight against Ichigo (This is a clash of ideals and values. It represents Byakuya's dogmatic nature in the earlier parts of Bleach going against Ichigo's rebellious nature and outright refusal to follow the law of what the soul society laid out). In Mace Windu's case, a clash of ideals with Anakin on whether it would be right to kill Palpatine (Sometimes this is even a fight in respective interpretations of this scene. This fight is a clash of ideals in a similar way that Ichigo vs Byakuya is. It's ironically a bit of the reverse. This time Mace is the one breaking the law of the Jedi Order, while Anakin had been trying to lean towards the route of upholding it).

Their outside personalities have caused people to see them as cynical and cold-hearted, while the truth is they are the exact opposite.

Both can use glowing swords of a similar color in battle: Mace Windu's purple lightsaber and Byakuya's pink Senkei swords.

Also both have a technique related to shattering (Shatterpoint and Senbonzakura).

This is WAY better than Maul vs. Byakuya, which confuses me as to why it even exists. Mace Windu, another Star Wars character, actually represents Byakuya at the core of his character.
