female ring-necked parakeet or rose-ringed parakeet (Psittacula krameri) on a blooming cherry blossom tree.
i think the tree is Yoshino cherry, or
Prunus × yedoensis 'Somei-yoshino'.

....i had been photographing the tree, when a couple of parakeets got interested. They decided to drop by and observe what i was up to. When i noticed them, i started including the birds in the photo. Sadly i didn't notice the second parakeet until they both got bored, and flew off together.
