Description
Some time in 2015, I started re-creating the Shepard from my first Mass Effect playthrough as my own 3D model, so I could pose her for drawing reference or have her 3D printed.I used loads of screenshots for reference and began by creating the basic body shape in the MakeHuman tool.
As for the face, the MakeHuman base model and its morph targets turned out to be far too different from the in-game model, and the closest I could get looked almost nothing like her.
After I imported her into Blender, I spent a long of time on re-topologizing and sculpting the face to match the screenshots.
I adapted the MakeHuman texture to include her freckles and make-up, and used Blender's hair particle system to re-create her hairstyle.
The clothes she is wearing are of my own design. I haven't had the time or motivation to create her armor yet, so I put her a dress that I imagine she wore during her shore leave on Elysium.
And sensible boots, unlike the high heels that come with the evening wear in the game.
The color scheme is similar to that of her armor in part 2 and 3 of the trilogy.
I used the armature from the Rigify add-on to pose the model. The image above was rendered with Blender's Cycles engine.
