I'm not sure when I had this idea for this, but it's been a while now. So in this second week of my summer vacation I finally sat down and made a plush of The Stranger .
I used my 3D model of him to make the pattern, just as I had done with Reeya and Delilah . He's sewn completely by hand - the many curved surfaces were a bit of a challenge, but it all went surprisingly quickly.

He's made from gray velvet which I then painted with watered-down acrylic paint. I also mixed in a bag of pearlescent pigments that are supposed to change from pink to blue, depending on the angle of the light. Sadly, that effect is barely visible on the plush, especially since the velvet already has a very angle-dependent sheen. But nevermind.

The details are also painted on with acrylic paint. The eyes are glass beads that I bought from MillionBeads on Etsy .

The plush is filled with polyester fibers, except for the feet which are filled with plastics pellets. Originally I wanted to make him floppy and shape-shifting, but The Stranger turned out to prefer full cuddle-mode. And hey, who am I to argue with The Stranger?

He does not stand up on his legs because they are too soft, but if he did, he'd be approximately 50 cm / 20" tall. That's the largest plush I've made so far.
