I've been trying to learn Japanese for a while, but this seems to be the easiest to understand!
Half the people I know refused to think I could learn Japanese.
I'm just like

I've been taking japanese for a little over a year and a half now, and I must say that these little lessons you've got here are a very good base for learning the language. They only just barely scratch the surface, of course, but they're a good start on the basics.

another question, sorry.
so, if you are answering a question as to what something is, you would say:
~~to
OR
~~tte iimasu
is that correct? Thank you, again. I'm not good at distinguishing a "tsu" from a pause...and also exactly what the "/" means... Arigato, samusensei, nekosensei. XD

so, is "koreha" and "soreha" used like "this" and "that", and "areha" is like "that over there"?
also, for the thing nearby, you wrote "Koreha nihonDOde nanto iimasuka", but for the things farther away, it was "nihonGOde"...is that a typo, or just some strange grammar rule or something? :3 All of your lessons have been really helpful alongside hiragana practice sheets, and I'm really looking forward to your lessons in katakana, if you're making them. I hope to see you, Samu-sensei, and Neko-chan in your next class. Shitsuree shimasu~

Isn't it "kinja" instead of "kinzya"?
:/
Last time I checked, γ followed by a γ,γ
, or a γ made a "J" sound...

I learn them for fun! I know bits of at least 15 languages, some from friends, most from books, few from classes.... So much fun to see how they compare!

Kanji will be the third thing we learn in this. It builds up so you don't get way confused. A kanji dictionary is really helpful - found at bookstores, mostly university bookstores. Well worth the investment!!

Hello, isn't "wakarimashita" past tense? (being "I understood it"?)
Wouldn't the correct "I understand" be "wakarimasu" as that is what George Trombley (author of Japanese From Zero) teaches??
