Description A dragon living in the Age of Technology collects some new treasures for his horde--the technology of man........

I'm stuck with this picture. I have NO CLUE what colors to use. NONE at all. It's really really really annoying, since I worked quite hard on the lineart. (I sketched the head on paper, scanned it in and sketched the body, then decided I wanted to do it with watercolors......so I printed it out on five seperate sheets, taped them together, put pencil all over the back, transfered it to watercolor, then inked it. ........yeah. 8D At least I've learned that you CAN transfer digital sketches to watercolor paper without any special tools.....yay?).
(here's the half-traditional, half-digital sketch [link] )

So, any suggestions of colors? I was thinking of blues and greens, but I tried out some digitally colored ideas.....and nothing looked quite right. I know that this is a decision I'll have to make for myself in the end.....but still, any suggestions would be loved . If you help me out, I'll love you forever x3.

The negative space there will be some sort of wheel-shaped, light-blue? digital magic 8D.

SCALES.

I would probably make the dragon a burnt red, and then every thing else in cool colours.... but that's just me.....

Wow, you have a LOT of patience to do lineart like that. @@; <3

Hmmm... Use colors that aren't used too much. :0 I always loved how marooon and turquise looked together. And that'd look good if you used the light blue for the wheel I think. 8D

I love the style you use to create these amazing drawings. The scales are amazing, and frankly I'm jealous! Good job!

I was thinking almost exactly along the lines of Starstricken-Disaste. Reds, coppers, and gold or yellow belly. I like the idea of ivory horns too, or pearlescent... opalescant?

I also like the idea of giving the techno bits wacked out colors so they really stand out.

I'm seeing dark, coppery brown on the back scales, and a rich, ruby red for the rest... perhaps gold for the stomach, eyes, and other details. ^^

Gorgeous lineart, of course I love your style!

That's a really awesome concept, Kalli! Seeee, I knew you had some artistic juice in you. Personally, I'd reccommend doing a really contrasting color scheme. For instance, make the background really cool and subtle with dark blues and blacks. Then, make the little ball of energy/fire a bright red. If you don't like that idea, [link] this artist is one of my absolute FAVORITES when it comes to color scheme. Good luck in your decision!!

Perhaps like dark purples and blues and blacks? With like a yellowish eye? Dunno, I'm not very good with colors XP

I think it would look really nice if you used neutral colors for the background and the dragon and then used wacky colors for the technological stuff. It would really bring them out because at first I didn't see them. There's so much detail here -- homigawd -- so I'd use really high contrast to bring out all the scales.

Lovely picture, can't wait to see the finished product ^w^ I love the jewelry on the dragon o0o so pritty.

...-faints- I just can't stop making comments on this one. You never cease to amaze your avid watchers (such as me) <3

I would try shades of red. I don't know it always seems to work with dragons. I really don't know how you had that much patience to sketch all of those scales @-@. they would have driven me crazy
