For a long time, I haven't posted any digital art. But remember when I said I was studying and working on my art style? I felt like I needed to take some time to learn new things and seriously work on improving for a while. I've never been able to do vector lineart before, it was so difficult for me to figure it out on my own, and I struggled with this for years, but I finally did it! I forced myself completely out of my comfort zone and didn't give up. This is the end result of many long hours spent struggling and getting frustrated, lol... But it was fun to work on and I'm actually a little sad that it's finally finished now. This is me giving it my all, maximum effort! I hope you like it! :3

She's my OC. Recently I've been revamping a lot of my old characters and their designs. She used to be known as Kaline since I couldn't think of anything better but I really don't want to have a character with the same name as me, so here we are. (Truthfully, she was my first OC ever and means a lot to me. ♥) I've made some changes to her design and re-named her Kalaya. Her full name is Kalaya Bastille, and she's a Caracal Djinn. (More specific than a cat goddess or demoness, eh?) She will be in my upcoming novel and has a very important role in the series. But she'll probably make some appearances in fanfics here and there too. I usually write her as a very chaotic neutral type character. Her colors are light pink and silver. She's a mischievous creature who grants wishes and she can shapeshift, her true form is a blue-eyed Caracal. If you want to know more about her, feel free to ask.

She's become my go-to character for experimenting I guess. The very first time I drew her was 10 years ago when I was a bratty little art noob. It's neat because you can see how she's evolved with my style over the years if you've been watching me since that time. (Hah I doubt it...)
The last time I drew her was in 2015, so have this crappy ref from 4 years ago: Character Reference - Kaline (ancient version)
You can see that she is very different now, so this reference is no longer accurate, obviously. They're not visible in this pic but I've changed her shoes too. They're open toed silver high heel sandals instead of the weird boots. She does still have her tail ring but it will have the same swirl patterns like her cuffs and leg band. And her outfit has a different design that I vectored myself just so I can use it again as needed.
