Update: Added a background because I can't count to save my life OTL

I am so excited for the EB Winter Warmup event!!! SO I am trying to get a good head start with all the art (I'm crazy and trying to do all 10 prompts OTL) so I saw Winzer 's journal, where people could sign up their Novice horses for the WWU: EB: Winter Warm Up! (go check it out if you're trying to find a horse to draw!!) and I was really just browsing when I saw Reverie-wild had linked 3504 Carmel Rose as a suggestion. I picked her because her Hyracothere markings reminded me of a treasure map

Chosen palette:
(white used for calva)
Steel grey - shading
Cinereous - Hyracothere, muzzle
Tuscan - Manes, highlighting
Fawn - Body/base tone
Brown Yellow - horns
All tones used for the background.

This challenge... was hard Limited palette is one thing, I foolishly also chose a muted palette, I feel like the blue just wasn't strong enough to create contrast. OH WELL. Live and learn? I think I managed to pull the shading off fairly well, as well get some highlights in there. I hope you like this Reverie-wild and I did Carmel Rose justice!!!! The title name comes from of course the fact that she is Carmel Rose, but none of her usual caramel tones were used in this piece
