Description
Made a few years ago, i still love it to death! I worked so hard on it, it was actually a late assignment (which is a big deal for the teacher's pet inside me!)Its Homestar Runner from [link]
Although not my favorite character, Homestar was the easiest to sculpt for the project. The assignment was to make something out of greenware clay using the slab technique (dont quote me here, i dont quite remember what exactly the technique is called)
I love the way it came out even tho it doesnt look exactly like him. He sites right next to my TV by my bed... sometimes i use him to hold incense.
Homestar Runner is (c) The Brothers Chaps

I really like the job on it. You made it look so simple, but at the same time, funny and awesome! It looks so much like Homestar! Except not exact, but who cares? Have you been to the Homestar Runner Wiki?

If my memory serves me correctly, isn't that technique where you take "slabs" of clay to use to form the sculpture? It was years and years ago I took pottery...
Anyways, this sculpture really turned out great! You can see looking at it that it took time - and the expression on Homestar's face makes me laugh

yeah those damn slabs! mine took so long to make that the slabs started drying too fast and i kept having to soak them for, like, a half hour to make them workable
pain in the butt!
Thanks for the comment!

HAHA! >< Ah yes, the joys of clay...my problem was that all of my pottery projects were so delicate and my teacher so rough that nothing ever survived firing. All I ever got back was chips and pieces. So I bulked up and made some pretty ugly thick chunky things simply because I needed to turn SOMETHING in
And you're welcome - one good turn deserves another, ne?

This Homestar Runner sculpture came out really good. I like the expression on his face and the star in the middle of his body.
