Okay, when I was in Australia taking a diving tour with the Fox's, we had several great white sharks around our boat. This one was about 8 feet in length and was taking it's turn at the tuna! Frankly, it was CUTE as all hell.This was originally in my Scraps area, but I have received a number of requests and suggestions that I should move it. So, here I go! More from the trip will be posted in the near future, and I still have interesting photos in my scraps area.

this is a very, odd, kind of comment on your picture (which is stunning i must say, considering i hate sharks.)
i live off the coast of Western Australia, and as once again, odd, as this is.. i was wondering if you knew about all the shark attacks that we have had all over australia since about a week before Christmas?
I think 2 people have died, and about 9 or 10 have been seriuosly injured, and i thought i would tell you this because they are coming closer to shore.
No much more really then that, just that an amazing photographer would perhaps be able to take advantage of that. Like the last time a man was killed, it was just off the coast, infact all he was doing was surfing about 50m out.. and he was killed by, forgive me if my information is wrong, a 4 or 5 metre tiger shark/great white.
So yeah.. that's all really.
other then i hate sharks with a passion, your photograph is simply stunning.

Well, I'm sorry that you hate sharks with a passion. I think they are not different than tigers, lions and bears. The difference to our perception is that when we swim in the water, which we feel is Ours as a human being, we are in their territory and fighting them off, much less spotting them, is far more difficult than with a lion, tiger or bear. I do not cheer when I hear that a shark has taken a human life, but at the same time, we are in their domain and they are a vital part of the eco system. What happens if we kill off all the sharks like the japanese are trying to do? Seal populations will explode. Seals need to eat. They will infringe our our fish resources, which will then make humans want to thin their numbers. Etc. etc. Thank you for your kind comment about the pic, and I'm sorry that we differ on opinions about these creatures.

Why thank you! That was the baby... if you can consider an 8 foot perfectly designed killing machine a baby! I love the great whites though, and we should protect them.
