Anakin didn't have to say much and even though we only see a piece of his face, it's more than enough of seeing his inner conflict. However the dark side was stronger so he immediately went back being Vader. I think it's because he realized that there is no turning back and if he decided to repent only more pain would bring upon the blood he spilled. In Return of The Jedi, he repented only because he knew he won't live long enough to suffer and the fact that Luke saved him.
