This is my dog, Brandi: 1/2 Australian Cattle Dog, 1/2 something else....(I love her coloring. Brindle, I believe.)And that is her puppy, whom I named Luffy! (after the main character on the anime, One Piece) =^.^=
Luffy was my darling! She used to bite all my guy friends when they got too close...It was so cute!
Unfortunately, my dad decided that he didn't like them because she was mixed-blood, so he gave Luffy and Brandi away while I was at school.
I miss her so much!!

I hate to tell you this, but she cannot be "1/2 wild hyena", or any kind of hyena. Hyenas are NOT dogs, not even canids, not even RELATED to dogs, but are actually the most closely related to mongooses and civets, which makes they far more closely related to CATS than to dogs, in spite of their looks. Their reproductive physiology is totally different from any canid's, in fact, totally different from any mammal, period. Besides, you're in the United States, and there are NO wild hyenas in North America and haven't been since the Pleistocine Era; hyenas are found in Africa and Asia. There are many breeds of dog that have striped patterns, called "brindle", though if I had to guess at the other half of her breeding, it would be Akita, since she most closely resembles a brindle specimen of this breed, with the shorter coat of the Australian Cattle Dog. She's a pretty dog; it's ashame that your father got rid of her just because she was not a purebred, since that has nothing to do with whether a dog is a good pet/companioin/protector or not.

Hmm...really? We bought her from a guy who had moved here from Australia and he said that Brandi was half wild hyena, half australian cattle dog...

Given that there are no hyenas in Australia, either, that is just as doubtful! Back in '98 a biologist colleague and myself got legal clearance from the Australian government to import some purebred Dingo pups from the Irwin's Zoo Australia...keep in mind these were eight-week-old puppies...but the cost of shipping EACH pup to the US at that time was $800.00 PER PUPPY, not counting the cost of the shipping kennel, so it's rather doubtful that anyone is going to bother paying what it would cost to ship a fully-grown mixed-breed dog from Australia to the US. The guy himself might have come from Australia, but I have a feeling he was selling you a line of BS about where the dog came from!

Not to my guy friends!! If I invite a female friend over, she's the most peaceful dog in the world. When I'm with the guys, we have to shut them both in my room, or they'll both attack the guys...lol
