Description
I originally did this as a self project but upon finishing, I noticed that there was a SF redesign contest at dontpanic.com. I'll post the final laters.Description: I was thinking of what she might look like after graduating from high school. Remembering her winning dance animation, I wanted to give her pose that looks like she could be dancing or fighting at the same time. Thought she would fit in something sort of sporty yet stylish and tried also to keep her colour scheme similar.

I've fanned through your whole gallery and while I like your finished paintings a lot, I have to say that nothing has more energy than your sketches! I love them so much, especially the process sketches.

Ironic w/ the contest 'cuz I did a redesign for Juri just 'cuz, but w/e. This is a solid attempt @ bringing Sakura of age (I atleast hope she washes that school uniform, kind of x3). Really like the urban vibe it gives off, which is something I like about the III games. In fact I could see this being Sakura in III in that sense. Also, though it's got some hint @ KOF design (Leona), it's not majoring in that territory.

I wish they had updated her look similarly to this for IV. As is now it makes it look like she's being held back in High School every year. lol It's kind of depressing.

I would love to see Sakura grow up this way. She makes me think of Gohan from DBZ who had the potential to be more powerful than even Goku...until DBZ went and got all stupid with the storylines anyway. I'd love to see how a grown-up Sakura fares against an even more experienced Ryu. Alas, Capcom hates character growth.
Anyway, great design. I like the full body shot in the lower right. The one just above it is appealing too, but it makes me think of Kyo from KOF. Of course, given that KOF has had some of the greatest character designs (and growth!) in fighting game history, that's not necessarily a bad thing.

This is really cool. The SF characters have had the same design for so long that a re-design isn't something I'd even really ever thought of doing, but this looks like a lot of fun. It's about time Sakura aged a little bit! But not too much

She's one of my favourite characters, Sakura, and those clothing designs look good on her. My fave is the one in the bottom right hand corner. Butout of the four at the top, the one right on the end would be an ideal second outfit. They should have made her more grown up, though.

This is fantastic! I was really hoping that Sakura's costume would get redone for SF4... she's can't be in her high school outfit forever... I mean, I know it's cute to have her look like that, but I wanted to see some character growth!
I think this design would have been much better! Or... maybe her in an outfit identical to Ryn's but for a girl or something... Guess they can't break out of the mold they made for her though. Guys love school girl outfits I guess...
