Personailty: Loyal, obedient, a smart wise dog. Has a mean streak and holds grudges. Can be quite stubborn. Can be quite friendly if you got to know him.

Bio: Born a hunting dog owned by a very kind human named Takota Hiyori. He was loyal to his master, and would do anything for him. His owner, having a job would leave the house a lot and so bought another German Shepard, a puppy named Hawk for him to keep him company. Duke wasn't lonely at all, actually, he preferred it. Seeing the pup, he did not object to his master's 'gift" and so mentored the pup to become a great hunting dog like himself. The puppy was stubborn though, a brat who would not listen to his master, so Duke would get mad at him quite a lot. The young dog did not quite understand loyalty to humans, to love and protect them. One day, his owner decided it would be a good idea to bring Hawk along on the yearly trip Duke and him went on, a day Duke would remember for the rest of his life.
It would have been like any normal trip he and his master went on if that pup didn't come with them. When Duke searched for pheasants in the long grass, Hawk, decided it was boring to go after such measly prey and decided he wanted to go after something far more larger than a bird. Far off in the distance, he saw something large and furry, surely he could take it down and bring it back to Duke to show he was already better at hunting than him. Before Duke could stop the pup, he sprinted off and attacked it, only to come running back frightened, a large gash in his neck. He ran away, leaving his master and Duke, to fend for themselves against a large golden bear.

The bear charged at the two in the field, Takota took out his gun, Takota's gun jammed when he tried to fire for the first time. Duke, actually quiet afraid of the bear, stood in front of his master and growled at the bear, thats when suddenly his master tried to fire the gun the second time, it misfired and exploded in his masters face and also Dukes. His owner was down on the ground, unconscious or dead, Duke could not tell, he was also down on the ground, aloud ringing where his left ear once was. His face covered in blood, Duke saw in his blurred vision the bear now having his masters arm in his mouth and started to swing him like a rag doll. He lunged at the bears face, which made the bear drop Takota on the ground. The bear easily flung him off and decided he wanted to tear more at his beloved human. With all his strength, Duke threw himself on top of his masters body, where the bear began to rip on Dukes body, where he stood, better him to die rather than his beloved master. Believing he would soon be dead, there was another gun fire and the bear stopped his attack and ran away. There were some shouts and yells from some more humans, but Duke knew that he and his master had been saved and so, blacked out from the blood loss. When Duke had awakened, he found himself in a large steel cage, bandages covering every inch of his body. How long he had been there he did not know. He escaped his cage when the doctors were to give him more medicine for his pain. He searched for his master for hours and finally found his sent at a hospital. Breaking in through the front doors, he found his master laying in a hospital bed, unresponsive when Duke licked his hand. Angry at what the bear had done to him finally left the hospital when his owner one day disappeared from his room.

Filled with vengeance, on his way to track down the bear and kill it, Duke met a pack of other German Shepards led by Tazo, saying they were after the same bear, it went on a rampage on their town killing many humans. It had grown to like the taste of human and they had to stop it from killing anymore innocents.

Most of the wounds healed over time, but most didn't, the bear had done his work ravaging half of his face and scarring his body. He is deaf in his left ear that is shredded, sometimes a loud shrill ring echoes in his ear reminding his of the day he had lost his master to that demon of a bear.
