Description
(Her Bio is much muuccchh longer, but I have not had time to write it all out. Also some things do need to be changed. So here is some of it for now~ When I have time one day, I will write more out!) I have had this drawing done for quite some time, but I decided to upload it from my stash so I don't loose it in the number of rough sketches I've done~
Name: Masumi (Meaning: "True Lucidity")
Gender: Female
Breed: Saluki
Age: 5 Years (Maybe older?)
Family: Father/Mother, 5 brothers (Un-Named)
Status: Alive
Mate: None (Was to be Gabriel, but after his betrayal, they never saw each other again)
Personality: This saluki was once friends with a wild dog that became a pet. However, she felt betrayed that the male decided to become a pet and leave the wild dog life behind. She had different views than her friend did, so, she left the male behind to pursue her ideals to cleanse the wild of pets in wild packs. She is quite cold, and is not the type to just take flirting from males. Males that try to pursue her end up severely punished. She is a "take no prisoners" kind of female, and will kill anyone that gets in her way. She despises human owned dogs (believing they have no real loyalty with wild packs, since they can always just run home to their humans and abandon their packs) and only believes the true warriors are ones born and raised in the wild. She is quite critical, and gets easily irritated, especially when a dog approaches her that has no manners.
Bio: Born and raised in the wild, Masumi was one of a litter of 6 pups. She was not treated differently from her other siblings, despite being the only female. In a time where females were seen as the weaker sex compared to males in packs, her father didn't have this prejudice like many other males did. She was seen as an equal to her brothers, and so, was trained and brought up no differently. And so, when the pups were old enough, he brought them to the main pack to become soldiers. Most males that had pups of their own were jealous, Masumi noticed the other soldiers in the pack approach her father, often saying, "I can't believe your mate gave birth to a whole litter of males!" or "My wife only gave me (a number here) boys...the rest were daughters/I wish I could have had all boys," or the rather insulting latter of the three "Your boys could pull off as females, with their sleek and feminine bodies, they shouldn't be allowed to become soldiers, they look too soft." This made Masumi angry, she didn't completely understand why they would say this and being the out spoken pup she was, confronted her father about it. Her father believed that a true warriors spirit came from a dogs heart...and not what was between their legs (or how they looked.) Masumi took this to heart and would often stand up for her brothers and other dogs that were seen as "unworthy" and visa versa.
Her father was quite the introvert, and was often seen as cold and uncaring with how hard he pushed his children. He only ever showed affection in praise and words to the pups, the "touchy feely" stuff was not really his thing. But it was okay, Masumi would not have it either way, her brothers and she herself enjoyed being pushed to their limits, especially if it meant attention from dad. The Male taught his children manners on other days they were not busy training, and to show respect for other dogs, no matter the rank. Because of this, the soldiers were taken aback by the their proper mannerisms, and soon, were becoming quite popular within the pack.
As she grew older, she started to notice more and more that many of the dogs bore some sort of rags around their necks. Her father told her that the rags were called "collars" and they were for dogs that belonged in homes...with humans. The concept was confusing to her, how could they have a home here and have a home somewhere else? Living in the wild was no "walk in the park," food was sometimes scarce and winters cold, so she guessed for extra security, the other dogs would tolerate humans so they could survive. She guessed it was sort of smart, they had shelter and endless food that way, but the collars proved to be their downfall, as she could easily grab onto their accessory and toss her sparing partner without breaking a sweat. What a major disadvantage.
On some days, males came and went from the pack. It was not an uncommon thing, their mates either were having pups, or they had permission from platoon leaders to take a break and visit family members that were back at home. She often traveled with dad to visit mom back home as well. But, this day, a rather old and scared looking male had brought with him his grandson. It was not a common thing for a male to bring back someone new, especially someone who was already a grown adult. He was much younger and much stronger, and apparently had volunteered to take his grandfathers place in the army, so that the old male could retire and live the rest of his life in peace. How valiant of him. He was a handsome male, black and white in coloration, with deep gold eyes. He sported a brown collar around his neck, and had the most kindest eyes she had ever seen on another male. How on earth he was related to the other male was a mystery, as the older male was a mutt, with absolutely no resemblance between the two. He was a saluki, much like herself, and was very well built. The platoon leader must have noticed this as well, because without a second thought, the male was allowed to stay.
--------------------------
It had been at least a week since this new male had arrived. She was starting to feel something for this other male that she had never felt before. Most males annoyed her, or came off as rude and mostly proved to be nothing but problematic. Heck, the lot of them were perverts and would hit on her and her brothers, despite not knowing she was a female. But with this male, she melted at just hearing the sound of his voice! This annoyed her. She didn't like this emotion, it was a rather distracting and father was quick to notice that she was slacking and not paying attention to his training, which meant more criticism from him rather than praise. She had spent most of her life pretending to be a male, to be equal to them, and she was not about to loose it all over a male she hadn't even spoke to yet! She would just have to avoid him and maybe, these feelings would disappear.
And then, it happened. She was pitted against the newcomer in a match to see how well his fighting skills were. Why did her father have to volunteer her, out of all her siblings? They were just as capable. She would have been just fine, staying in the back of the crowd, away from HIM, this male that clouded her judgement. She was shaken out of her thoughts by the sound of her dad's jaws snapping, which sent her flying into the the circle the males had formed. Wham! In a blink of an eye, the new male had pinned her to the ground, jaws around her throat. He had caught her off guard. Nice try, but it wouldn't happen again. She kicked the male in the abdomen, knocking the air out of him, which gave her time to escape from under his jaws. She could feel her fathers gaze upon her and she wasn't about to disappoint him. It seemed like an enternity, with both dogs dodging each others attacks, landing blow after blow. But it had to end sometime, and since this male sported a collar, she was going to take advantage of that.
Oh but how the tables would quickly turn.
Instead of grabbing the male by the collar and throwing him into the ground like she planned, the male had waited until Masumi had her jaws around the collar and swung her, trapping her jaw in the collar and catching her off guard. As soon as her feet left the ground, the male threw all of his weight upon her, slamming her into the dirt. She let out a loud gasp as air escaped her lungs, her vision blurred as she was unable to breathe. She could hear the males around her shout in praise to their new pack mate and a shadow loomed over her. Was it Dad? He was going to be so mad at her. All his training, was for nothing. But as soon as her vision cleared, she saw that it was none other than her sparing partner, who helped her back on four paws. He spoke to her, but she could barely hear him over the sound of the other males and her own heart beat, as her brothers and father came to take her away so she could rest.
(STILL WRITING)
----------------------------
The males had turned tail and ran leaving her father, brothers and the rest of the wild born soldiers to fight the invaders themselves. Greatly out numbered, her father and mostly all but one of her siblings, were slaughtered. She was spared, after they found out quickly from one of her brothers that she was a "female." Her other brother was badly beaten. That day, her heart shattered, in more ways than one. She had wanted to die with them! Why would her brother rat her out like that?! Gabriel has betrayed her. All those damn pets had.
After that day, her heart grew cold, and she became spiteful and mean. The love for others in her heart was gone...or possibly, it was deeply hidden within herself, but anger clouded her mind, and the old dog she once was died that day with her Father and brothers.
- Most dogs mistake the markings under her eyes for another set of "eyes," so even when she is asleep, it looks like she is always watching.
- She absolutely hates it if you call her an old hag and disrespect her. She tends to lash out when this happens.
- She is not afraid to murder pups to achieve her goal.
- She tends to admire strong females and will try to convince them to join her side. If they refuse however, she will either capture them or kill them.
- She has been known to take her enemies pups to raise as soldiers against their own families.
- It was learned that she actually hangs other dogs by their collars and leaves them to die if she comes across leaders that are also pets.
