How many eyes do you got now?Β

if you want a idea of the risk you took .the day of the accident the radiation lecture Β said 3,6 rads, the real reading was 15.000rads

You're pretty brave to be that close to the power plant.

I wish I was as lucky as you, I mean being in such a historical place, near some where that you'll never go any place like? Its probably a creepy and amazing feeling. Nice photo!

Reactor #4 is considered to be extremely radioactive, you can't be there for a very long time, as you will become exposed to the radiation a bit more quickly than you would in Pripyat (about half a mile to a mile away). Great photo though!

Wonder if the sarcophagus contains living mutants and zombies? :3 xD Random thoughts x3
Epic pic though!

MrWetTowels [2012-05-24 00:43:04 +0000 UTC]

Ah the sarcophagus, the one thing that covers the reactor. (btw way it is almost completely free of radiation, not completely but almost, so yes he can get THAT close without dying.)

I admire your bravery, it's weird that in the movies and video games describe the place as extreamly dangerous. But really life there is coming back sooner than "expected" and the radiation level has gone down dramatically since the day it happened. Eventually, if they all think about going back to clean it all up, they may be able to use it again.

I thought it was only possible to travel by road around Chernobyl and that the radiation was going to last about 500 years...

For some unknown reason, i'd like to go.

Did you have to go through decontamination when you left?

Hmmm...I thought the radiation was so strong you couldn't go within 100 metres of the sarcophagus. Guesss i was wrong. Or did you take some kind of anti-rad medication?
