Description

**This is headcanon and is merely used for entertainment purposes for the sake of a fanfiction story. Please do not harshly condemn; there is no need for anyone to get upset if this doesn't exactly fit the lore.**

So this is my bottlecap currency "Key Code", if you will.

In the story, each Nuka-Cola flavor has colored bottlecaps to match their corresponding flavor. Depending on the rarity of the flavor, a certain bottlecap held more value. This is like an equivalent of coins and their worth. I thought that would make more sense to do that try and make cap carrying less "burdensome", especially since in the game it didn't matter what bottle variant of Nuka-Cola you opened, 1 bottlecap = 1 dollar... and honestly, if you wanted to buy an item that costs 6,000 caps, that's a lot of bottlecaps to be carrying around and count out if each one is only worth a dollar! (Yes, granted one could argue that trading weapons and armor with a merchant can lessen the price, but you get my point right? ... Right?  )

I also spent quite some time learning about each Nuka-Cola flavor that had been released as well as it's corresponding value as an unopened bottle, so I thought it would be fun to mention a tiny piece of history for each flavor and why the value of the cap is what it is (depending on the level of information on the flavor, I may have added a tiny bit of headcanon to the explanation of the cap's value, but otherwise I tried to keep the facts as "lore accurate" as I could).

Also, for non-players of the Fallout games, I wanted to include some minor history regarding how the bottlecap became currency.

Anyway, I've been wanting to make a visualization of my key code for some time now and a reader expressed interest in seeing it, so it was a great motivator to get it done. Thank you once again for that, MMakku!
