Description In continuation with the "Bust Brigade", I drew another set of parents. This time, it's Tala's!

I'm honestly floored by how much my art has improved since I first drew busts of them for Tala's Lineage  - I mean... I know my art is getting better with time, but having an old artwork to compare this to just makes that fact for reveling.

But yee! Here's Tala's Dad and Mom!

So just some background for those who haven't read To Light the Dragonfires:

Celestin majored in Restoration, but minored in alchemy. He would spend his adult years using his skills as the local herbalist for his tiny village, as well as selling potions to the neighboring town of Cloud Spring in the province of High Rock. It was not uncommon for Tala to sit in his alchemy lab when she was a child and watch him mix ingredients (and sometimes stealing a sip of his coffee when it was left unattended).
Of all the Nine Divines, Celestin was a strong follower of Talos. He grew up around a Nord that settled in High Rock and would hear stories of the great God of War- the mortal that became a Divine- as if the Nord had been there to witness it himself. He was amazed at everything that Tiber Septim accomplished and believed that if a mere man could become one with the Divines, then there was no such thing as an impossible dream. So when Celestin and his wife were expecting their first child, he would not accept any other name for his ‘son’ but Talos, in honor of his God hero. The only problem was, Tala was born a girl (not a boy)... so he got a suggestion from his wife for a different name that he liked in its place.
He also blames Tala's unnatural blue hair on an experiment gone wrong when he was a young man. He had made an alchemical concoction that was supposed to increase his magic regeneration by tenfold; instead, it just turned him blue. His skin, fingernails, hair, and even sclera were blue for weeks. He wondered if there were some lingering effects from it in his genetic code. Despite his daughter growing up different, he never treated her different, and even taught her some minor healing spells and alchemy when she was old enough to work with a mortar and pestle.

And then there's Eveline! She was a priestess of Akatosh, and always instilled her beliefs in the God of Time to her daughter. Growing up, Tala would play in the chapel of Akatosh in Cloud Springs while her mother tended to the sick of body and of soul, and then return home to their little village every night. It was Eveline that used to tell her daughter, "Good deeds lead to good things."- a belief that still guides Tala to this day.
After her daughter was born and her husband was sad about not naming a son after Talos, she suggested "Tala" as a feminine alternative. Eveline was a very nurturing and patient mother, and did her best to nurture her child's spirit to keep her thriving, despite her setback of having blue hair and being treated different by everyone else. When Tala decided she wanted to leave for Cyrodiil, it was Eveline who saw that her daughter had dreams that were meant to be accomplished somewhere else, and convinced her husband to let her travel there.

Sadly, both of her parents were killed during a bandit raid about a year after Tala left home. Her father had died protecting his wife, giving her a chance to escape the village and run to Cloud Spring for aid. The Chapel healer did their best to heal her, but she unfortunately succumbed to her wounds several hours later. Before she passed, she asked them to send word to her daughter of what happened.

Okay, so that was a lot of background.   But there they are! I've got more info logged in Tala's ToyHouse, but its still a Work-In-Progress. Though feel free to see what I've got so far! Tala's Toyhouse Profile
