Description This is another work inspired by the week's theme of that was "The Essence of life".
Initially I thought about how painting 'love' as the essence of life. But after I made the first sketch, I gave up, because I think that 'love' was a too high concept and I also thought that probabily it isn't the very essence of life. So, even the drawing in a certain way can be linked with it, I preferred to drawing something that was more, I don't know, ambigous? Here I wanted to underline more a 'friendship' relation. I think, indeed, that the essense of life are 'relations' even between entities that are really different from each other, almost opposite. The "flower-girl" is deeply diverse from the "robot-boy", but they can be friends.
Relations between members of our or of other species and also between us and nature are the key of the life. The balance between us and everything else is the thing that should preserve our world from collapsing. We have to seek and find this balance that we have lost. It isn't already the apocalypse, but we have to estabilished a right way of living in our planet again, respecting it and caring for it.
The fact that also the robot is seen as a 'living being' isn't casual. This is because, in my opinion, the border between life and no-life is quite narrow. The discussion upon this topic is lively open, with questions like: "Will robots be like humans? And if it is so, what will be, at last, the difference between robots and humans? And, lastly, what makes humans special?". These questions probably won't have answers. Someone will say that intelligence is what made humans different from other animals (I doubt about it), someone else will say that humans have a soul, animals and robots don't have one...
For a "last level interpretation" (seems quite boastful from me talking about "multiple level interpretations", but... I don't care! XD) it could rapresent a hope, which imagine nature living together in peace and armony with technology (a product - often distructive - of human race)...
Take it as a provocating piece. It has made also for meditate about these topics... XD
Anyway! Hope you like the drawing as a whole, not also for the (partly artificial) meaning! ^w^

XD
Comunque grazie! Mi riempi sempre di complimenti! ^w^
