She's working for it, to be sure! And her determination is what's inspiring mister author over there along the wall!
(Ballet (specifically pointe) is a pain and a half, but there's certainly a pride to be found in doing it, even when your toes are bruised and bleeding. )

As much as I loved the look and feel and notion of dancing en pointe, my really passion had always been my tap dancing, to be honest. As a shorty with a ... less than willowy build in the chest area, I looked the part for that a bit more too.
While pointe may be a challenge to pick up at an older age (as someone that started at 3, that's a large range to me), I've noticed a lot of people wanting to take up just normal, soft shoe ballet, so that could be something to look into if you were interested. A lot of schools in your area should have adult classes for beginners, so you don't have to risk feeling like a creeper by learning with preadolescent girls when you're first starting out.
My advice? Go for it! Dancing is good for you, a lot of fun, and a great way to make new friends, likely ones you never would have met ordinarily.

Tap dancing sounds really fun too, im a shorty too (but im happy that I got some a nice figure going for me ^^)
wow three years old? Did you ask to be in it or were you put in by a guardian?
I would love to take classes , (and with people my age at that!)and I've looked into it but it's too expensive for me. I would love any sort of ballet experience. I'll try to look for classes again.
And i hope that learning ballet will help me improve my horrible sense of balance!

Yeah, very much not the ballerina figure here.
TBH, I don't know, since it was so long ago! Most of the women in my dad's family were dancers in varying capacities, and I DO know that loved my time with it. My studio ended up folding and the one that took over most of our students... I was better then their tap teachers, so I was at a loss for what to do. (they were largely a gymnastics school, with the dance program on the side) I ended up picking up martial arts and then doing musicals in High School, but I stagnated and then mostly stopped all together. =/
I can see how the cost could be a limiting factor, it is usually a pretty penny, especially when you figure in clothes and shoes. Keep it in mind for down the road! It's always something you can make time for later.
It should help a lot! So that's another thing you can look forward to!

I'm getting a little on the flubby side becuase i dont really do that much to exercise anymore since i droppped my sport. ~.~
wow, family line of performers. That sounds really amazing. you are so multi talented! What do you do now?
Yea cost is an issue and considering im starting to apply to colleges, right now isnt the best time. maybe i could take a dance class in college on a scholarship? hmm
I'll try my best!

I've gotten on the flubbier side too, myself. I had a cycling accident during my first week of college, back in '04, that messed up one of my knees pretty badly. I've regained normal mobility for basic everyday stuff, but the kind of lateral stresses from dancing, skating, and skiing (all my old sports!) are out of the question - any side to side motions, and even some normal bendings, can cause it to blow out on me if I'm not careful. That being said, I'm an incredibly flexible flubb, since I still love to stretch!
I usually tap when I am not thinking about my feet too, like cooking dinner and standing and waiting for husband at the store, or just sitting at a table with a hard floor beneath my feet. I still do low-impact bits of ballet when I'm piddling around the house if I'm the only one home - a kick here, a twirl there - I just make sure to favor the left leg and only do certain things with the good one.
A LOT of average sized and larger colleges have a vast variety clubs available as well, most only have a nominal fee to join. I know Purdue had hundreds. My husband and I actually joined the ballroom dancing club during our final semester so we wouldn't embarrass ourselves at the wedding! (we still did. Turns out even with all my years of solo dancing... I am absolutely TERRIBLE at being led.
)
I would keep it in mind as something to look for, rather than use valuable credit hours (unless you have some to burn and extra time!) if you are worried about fitting everything in. I was able to squeeze in a few fun classes on my scholarship time thanks to AP classes and the like, but I know not everyone is that lucky.
Best of luck on your applications! I know it's a hectic time for a lot of people~

Yeah, there's all sorts of things wrong with this, that's why I didn't like it. Rushed this one too much to get other ones finished.

Ah, its okay though, you did the background really well, got them really looking like themselves, and the colors on fakir PERFECT. A lot of good is in this picture, dont get too down about it, you can always redue it in the future,

I ALMOST kept his full blown creeper face that I drew on accident the first time, but he was giving me the willies, so I couldn't go through with it.
You know he's actually trying to 'draw her like one of his french girl's' over there.

There's so many little things that are off with it though, and they're both plainly not properly interacting with the background. Their feet aren't contacting the ground right, the perspective is off, etc. etc.

The expression on Duck's face says "Fakir just said something just to peeve me" and Fakir is all "Aw yeah... that got to her a little *smirk*"

Interesting! I was going for just a focused look on her part while he's quietly watching her practice.
I like seeing how people can take different interpretations depending on how they see the characters.

There's something about Ahiru's expression... the tilt or her brows or the angle to her mouth, it just screams "mildly annoyed" at me. And Fakir? Fakir just always looks so self satisfied and smug.
