Description Creature concept for practice.

The Mishibizhiw is a mythological creature from the Native American societies around the Great Lakes region of the U.S. and Canada. It's both a creature of the water and the underworld; behaving much like an alligator or a crocodile by dragging men and women into the water to devour.

I was looking up native american mythological creatures to see if their bestiaries included draconic creatures. I thought this guy sounded a lot like a native american version of a wyrm.

Edit: Been wanting to do a rough touch up of this guy for a while. Changed his face a bit, added more contrast, reworked the lighting a tad. Now onto new things!

Its so interesting how every culture has some kind of a dragon of some sort, even when most never had any contact with any others.

Amazing feeling, strokes and colour choices here. You're always inspiring to me!

The description is quite resemble to the familiar Native American aqua-draconic specie called Kolowisi.

It's a water dragon according to the Zuna legend. Same as the feature with finned arms and legs, but the description according to Dragonlore is a huge serpant, so I wouldn't call it a wyrm if in that case, but for your drawing is exceptional.

Water and underworld Dragon-like being? Reminds me of Veles from Slavic myths. He's sort of what you'd get if you mixed Hades, Loki, and... some water deity. Lord of the underworld, trickster and shapeshifter who favors the shape of a dragon-like creature and is associated with water.

I really like its colours! My only thought is; would its snout be longer so it can grab waterside prey easier? Seems a bit short for that purpose.
I love the design overall, it's obvious you really practice your anatomy! <3

I debated making the face longer at first, but decided against it in order to maintain the cat-like facial proportions. I figured he could hunt like an otter or cat when it comes to fish, using his hands to dart out and grab things.
