The water coloring technique is beautiful, and the story behind it is childlike and makes love winter times even more
One quirky detail, he wouldn't be able to write in the window, since her side would be the one with the condensation.
Keep up the hard work.

mmm lets see tips ... tips...
1. well the best tip I can give is to use layers of color ...that is, try to avoid areas of flat color. for example if you want to make something blue.... use several layers of blues to create your blue. So rather than looking at one color... you're looking through several layers of color to give you that color.
2.take your time and build up your color slowly.... you can always go darker but you'll never really be able to go lighter without using gouache (opaque watercolor)
3. remember you're not really "painting" you're controling water. I.e. Rather than using the brush to lay the paint as you would with oils or acrylic one uses the brush to control the water. to make a clean wash the brush only touches the bead of water, not the page ^_^
hope that's helpful.... if you want advice on something specific please let me know! if it's something I can help with I'd be glad to!
